Chapter 102

“How did it go today?” I said.

“Splendid,” Tom said.

“Very well,” Noah said.

William and Henry were in the sitting room when I unlocked the door to our apartment. “You guys look extremely relaxed,” I said.

“I should hope so,” William said. “We had a soak, a massage, a short roll in the hay, and a long nap.”

“Sounds good.”

“If you guys won’t think us rude,” Tom said, “we’re gonna go down to the baths so I can work out the kinks in my back. I’ve been hunched over a keyboard most of the day, and I feel it.”

“Yeah,” Noah said, “and if you don’t mind, we’d sort of like to eat in tonight. When I get this close to a performance, I tend to cut down on my intake a bit.”

“No problem,” I said. “Go, take care of yourselves. We’ll still be here when you get back.”

“Actually,” Dani said, “after a long day at the hospital, I wouldn’t mind some quality time in the calidarium.”
