What it means to be Immortal

After that surprise with my status I was a bit perplexed at the limit in the DE but I would deal with it when the time came , after closing down my status page I fixed the hole I made and left the attic only to see Salem and Harry looking at. Harry had a surprised face and Salem just had an impassive look before asking "Power up?" and I answered with a chuckle "Yeah , oh and the update completed. The new stuff is pretty good" I said while going past Harry and walking to the living room to sit down , after a bit Harry caught up to us and I just transferred all the new info to Salem including the divine energy and what I had found out until now directly to her mind and after a bit she smiled and said "Those will spare us time and this divine energy really does deserve it's name , you changed the house but we didn't even notice. I can only sense your magic energy but not this divine energy" after hearing her I was surprised and I focused some of my DE in my hand making it be covered in a layer of gold fire like energy.

She looked at my hand and said "Well I don't feel anything but my danger senses are flaring up like crazy , I feel like I could die for real if you attacked me with that energy" and I said "Well that is pretty convenient , this means that now I can slay immortal beings. Damnit why have I never thought about this , if they can make us immortal that means they are immortal but thankfully we didn't face them yet" and Salem nodded at my words but Harry was really confused at our words and asked "Wait what is that? And what are you talking about?" I just sighed and decided to explain him that we weren't from this world and after explaining it to him he said thoughtfully "Well that does explain why you're crazy powerful when you're younger than Dumbledore and the things you create" when we heard Harry both me and Salem laughed at him and he asked why we were laughing and Salem said "Harry we are older than the magical community , we are both immortal. The rumors you hear aren't fake , we are immortal Harry".

Rumors about us have been circulating recently because we didn't seem not even a day older even after 11 years , in this 11 years even Dumbledore got older but not us. We remained younger so the rumors started , we knew Harry had heard about them because at this point everyone practically had heard about them , after all we were pretty famous but we didn't worry about it. After a bit Harry said with a sigh "So does that mean that I will eventually die and you will continued living on? Why did you told me not to use the philosopher's stone , I could be immortal like you....I don't want do die first" Harry said looking down at the end , me and Salem looked at each other and with a sigh I said "Well I told you not to use because there are better ways to be immortal , if you used the stone and someone destroyed it at some point in time your old age would eventually caught up to you and you would die. And because immortality isn't all sunshines and roses" after I was done Salem took up "Being immortal means you see everyone you love and care die eventually".

She stopped a bit and took a breath before continuing "You will watch everyone around you get born , live their lives and die eventually while you are still here. At some point you will lose all hope but someone will appear and give you hope , until that person dies too and once again you are alone. 'You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain' this saying isn't just for show , if I hadn't met your father I would probably turn evil and try to destroy the world by manipulating everything." after she was done I was so surprised at how accurate that was but I didn't think too much about it , after hearing us Harry then said "What does that even have to do with me turning immortal? Won't I always have you?" and this time I was the one who spoke "Harry you are just 10 years old , you might be more mature and even bigger but that doesn't change the fact that you are still a kid. You still have a lot to live and to experience and maybe by then you will understand what we are talking about." after I said that we got up and left to our room since we wanted him to think about it , his smarts weren't just for show but he is still a kid.

After we got to our room we sat on our bed and I heard Salem say "You know this applies to Mione too right? Are you sure she will accept to leave with us when the time comes? Are you sure she will give up everything for you? Only the future will tell so until then enjoy your time with her my Love" after I heard her words I knew she was right , I might be older but I didn't really live all those years , in the end Salem was more wise than me. I could just check the future with my law but I didn't want to turn into a manipulator and because the future could change at any time so I decided to just live with it , when that time reached I would deal with it even if it ended up leaving a bad taste after all not everything was sunshines and roses in life , principally when you are immortal. After reaching that conclusion I looked at Salem that had used the arc to make some coffee while I was thinking and so I summoned my mug and started sipping on my coffee too , after she saw me she said "It seems you decided to follow through regardless of the possible consequences.

I'm proud of you" after she said that we both laughed and seeing that the mood was light I said "Well now that we are over that , let's speak about this new update. It seems that now I can give people systems and we don't have to worry about looking for a source of magic for you" after I said that I used the [Connect] function and a table appeared with all the names of the people who reached 100% , after the removal of the relationship restriction many people reached 100% like Harry , Mione and even people in Remnant like Leon , Regis , Velvet and Alfred and some more. In the first place was Salem so I selected her and another pop up appeared asking me if I was sure I wanted to connect with her and after I selected yes another one appeared asking me to choose the skills , I selected [Magic Breeder Reactor] , [Devour] and [Ajin]. After I pressed yes once again in another pop up I felt another bond between me and Salem form and before I could speak Salem's magical power got out of control and started rising at a extreme pace because she couldn't control it.

I hurried and sealed it inside her body before stopping it with my time law , after I stopped it she fell down while breathing hard before saying "T-thanks Love , that caught me by surprised. Give me a bit to get used and I will be able to control it" and I nodded and told her "You got all the time in the world" she chuckled before sitting down and closing her eyes probably focusing and I just stopped her coffee from getting cold before going back to mine , after a bit I decided to make better use of my time and started playing with the DE that was constantly growing , it was now at 2000 out of the 5000 limit and this made me wonder how I would break that limit and how big the energy was gonna become since it was now the size of a basketball , another thing I wondered was the physics of it. How could a ball that size fit inside me? I was big but now that big , after thinking and not getting answers I just gave up on it and focused on finding more uses to the DE , after 2 hours Salem finally told me to unseal the skill so I did it and this time she was indeed able to control it. After that we continued talking and decide that the next day I would go and see the Guardian before calling in the day and going to sleep.
