Chapter 2 - Beast Wine

Walking out of the temple, Ronald saw Jack standing next to the door and waving at him.

"How did it go? What class did you awaken?" Jack said as he approached him.

"It was fine. But I didn't awaken the class that I hoped," Ronald said with a sad expression.

Although he had already submitted to his fate of being a tamer, he still felt a little bit sad that he didn't become a warrior.

Hearing his answer, Jack stayed silent for a second before he smiled and said, "It's okay. You can still use a sword even if you are not a warrior. By the way, what class did you awaken?"

"Tamer," Ronald said with a small sigh.

"Hmmm... That is quite a good class, especially if you can tame a very strong beast. But to tame a strong beast, first, you must let it see your strength. So, starting tomorrow, I will double the amount of training that I will give you," Jack said with a happy voice.

"What about we start training today?" Ronald said as an excited expression can be clearly seen in his eyes. Although he didn't get the class that he hoped for, he still felt excited just from the fact that he can get stronger at a much faster speed starting today.

"Nahhh... Let's celebrate today. Let's celebrate the day you become an adult. Also, I set aside a spirit beast meat that I personally hunted just for this day. And I asked Hannah to cook it for us. So, let us hurry before she eats it because she was tired of waiting. Also, the last one to reach the house would receive a smaller portion of the meat. " Jack said as he ran while laughing loudly, leaving Ronald behind.

"UNCLE JACK, THIS ISN'T FAIR! WAIT FOR ME!" Ronald said while shouting as loud as he can as he started running and was trying to catch up.

Hearing Ronald's shout, Jack stopped for a bit and shouted back at him.

"RONALD, ALWAYS REMEMBER. THE WORLD IS UNFAIR AND ONLY HAVING STRENGTH IS FAIR."

After shouting back, Jack continued running, while Ronald continued chasing him.

While they were shouting at each other, some of the villagers looked at them with amusement, as they congratulated him as he passed them by. Ronald also smiled at them and giving them a small bow to indicate that he appreciated their congratulations.

After 20 minutes of running, Ronald reached his uncle's house. And there he saw him waiting at the door and waving his hand at him.

"You lose. Hahaha," Jack said as he laughed loudly.

"But you're stronger than me, also you started running first," Ronald said as he complained to him.

"That is the reality, so always continue to become stronger if you don't want to lose. Now, let's come in as I am really starving," Jack said as he pats his stomach, indicating his hunger.

Listening to his uncle, Ronald nodded and followed him.

Upon entering the house, Ronald saw a variety of food prepared on top of the table and a woman in her 20s sitting on a chair beside it, holding a plate full of meat and different kinds of vegetables and fruits, slowly eating as she watched them enter the house.

"You're late," the woman said as she continued eating.

"Hannah, you should have waited for us," Jack said, and then let out a small sigh.

Although he expected her to eat first, he was still quite disappointed at her. But in the end, he still sighed and smiled. He knew her character very well, and it was also a known fact in the village that she is a binge eater, as long as the food doesn't run out, she will continue eating until there is nothing left. Many even wondered how she had pulled that off, as there is really no visible physical changes even if she ate a month's worth of food. Although she was known as such, she was also known as the best cook in the village. Therefore, the village chief didn't drive her away and just let her live in the village, they aren't short of food anyway as they are near outskirts of the Everlast Forest. And the food can be found nearby, you only need to find the most efficient and safe way to acquire it though.

"Congratulations! Ronald, you're an adult now. The only thing I can say to you is, just keep moving forward," Hannah said as she put her plate down and look at him, and she then continued with a serious face, "Also, never let your emotions cover your judgment, especially during a fight, cause a single mistake may cost your life. I am just saying this as I know that someday you will fight for your life and for those around you, seeing how hard you train yourself each day."

Hearing her serious reminder, Ronald nodded seriously at her and said, "I will remember that auntie."

"Now, now, now. Let's not talk about any serious things today. Let us just celebrate the day where Ronald became an adult and start his real journey in this world," Jack said as he held a piece of cooked meat on one hand and a mug of wine in the other as he let out a hearty laugh.

Seeing his uncle drinking wine, he asked, "Uncle, now that I am an adult, can I drink wine now?"

"NO, you still can't, especially this kind of beast wine. You need to be at least level 2 before you can drink even the weakest beast wine."

But as a beast wine entered level 5, it would become a super rare potion as it would increase one's stat points by 100 with a 1% chance of happening," Jack said as he drunk and savored the taste of the wine.

"So uncle, how do you make a beast wine, and what level is the wine that you are drinking?" Ronald asked curiously.

"Actually, the ingredients of this wine came from a variety of beast. This beast wine even took me 10 years to gather its ingredients. By the way, the level of a beast wine is mostly determined by the level of the strongest beast where its ingredients are gathered from. And to make a beast wine, first, you must find a chef as only them can brew the wine," reaching this point Jack paused and looked at Ronald with a smirk on his face before he continued.

"And as for this wine, it is a level five beast wine," Jack said with a proud expression that is clearly saying, praise me, praise me.

And as a good child, Ronald gave what his uncle wanted.

"Wow. Uncle, you're really strong," Ronald said in awe.

"Hmm... As a gift for you, I'll give you a bottle of this wine. But, you must not drink this until you are level 3. Am I clear?" Jack said seriously.

"Yes, uncle. I'll remember your warning."

Hearing Ronald's answer, Jack waved his hands, and a floating glowing magic circle appeared before him.

"Uncle, is that a <Storage>?"

Ronald was amazed and somewhat excited as he knew that he can also have something like that someday.

A "Storage" is a skill used to store things, although the space inside the "Storage" isn't infinite and is limited by the user's level, and the "Basic Storage skill" can only be learned at level 3.

"Yeah," Jack answered as he took out a transparent bottle with a red colored liquid inside it and gave it to Ronald.

As Ronald receive the bottle of wine, a floating blue screen appeared in front of him.

Description: A wine that is made by properly mixing all ingredients that came from three level-5 beasts and twenty level-4 beasts while inserting and activating mana inside each material.

Effect:

1 % chance to add a random 100 stats point to the drinker of the wine.

Note: The effect will only happen one time per one regular wine bottle.
