Chapter 2 Six-and-a-Half-Year-Old Brother

The boy's arms were firmly pressed against the blood collection table by two male doctors.

Their grip was tight as they anticipated the boy's resistance.

The boy struggled subconsciously, crying out in pain.

"Take it easy. It will be over soon. We only need a little blood to save the life of a beautiful lady. You're not afraid of pain, are you?"

Hearing the nurse's comforting words, the boy stopped struggling.

He turned his head slightly to reveal his sculpted features and asked softly, "Really?"

The nurse's heart tightened at the sight of expectation in the boy's innocent eyes.

Then she thought of the huge bonus she would receive for helping Bill's fiancée recover sooner and nodded firmly.

"Yes, it just stings a little, and the lady will live. A big boy is not afraid of pain, right?"

The boy nodded firmly. "Yes! If it can save her life, I'm not afraid."

His grandmother had told him that his sister was dead and would never come back to life.

He wanted her to be alive again.

Now he could save another woman by enduring a little pain. He was willing and unafraid.

As soon as he finished speaking, the needle pierced his slender blood vessel, and bright red blood flowed into the large needle tube.

To collect the blood fast, they used the thickest needle for adults.

A sharp pain swept through the boy's immature arm as the needle entered his blood vessel.

His small body trembled uncontrollably.

"Don't move!"

A cold warning sounded in his ear.

The boy bit his lip, trying not to struggle instinctively against the pain.

Tears welled up in his eyes, but he tried to hold them back.

He was afraid that his tears would affect the nurse who was drawing his blood.

He had to persevere. He could save a life if he could hold up.

He had already lost her sister and didn't want to see another die.

"It doesn't hurt at all," he told himself.

As the blood continued to flow into the tube, his lips grew paler and paler.

The boy endured the pain that could cause him to faint at any moment.

Soon, the large tube was full.

"Director, do you want to continue?"

The nurse in charge of drawing blood turned to look at the serious-looking director.

The amount of blood drawn had already affected the boy's physical development. If they drew more, he would die.

But this small amount of blood was not enough for the CEO's wife.

If they couldn't draw enough, their huge bonuses would be canceled.

The director hesitated for a moment before resolutely ordering, "Continue!"

The surrounding doctors and nurses breathed a sigh of relief.

They were afraid that he would go soft and call it off.

Bill had the power to overthrow the entire city of Seattle anyway. Even if the boy died, they wouldn't be implicated.

They had nothing to lose but had everything to gain.

After receiving the affirmative answer, the nurse changed to a larger needle so quickly, as if she were afraid the director might change his mind.

As blood continued to flow out of the boy's body, his delicate face lost its color at a visible speed.

His breathing grew weaker and weaker.

It was so faint that it could disappear at any moment.

Bang!

The door to the blood collection room was booted open from outside.

The doctors instinctively looked over.
