Jumping up onto one of the massive roots surrounding the waterfront, Rinshiki slowly sat down.
A sigh escaped his lips and he gently reached up and touched one of his short pointy horns.
He never would have thought that people would be so fragile as to nearly die by a single strike.
Running his fingers down his face, RInshiki soon reached the place below his eyes where, ever since he had been born, two eyelids lay.
He had never been able to open those eyes, and he suspected that a dojutsu lay there sealed until a time yet unknown to him.
Reaching down even further, he slowly traced the sharp fangs embedded in his mouth.
Rinshiki had sat there for a few hours contemplating this new planet he had arrived on when he heard someone land on the root next to him.
The person didn't say anything, only sitting down and looking at the moonlit lake.
Eventually, he spoke, "You missed dinner…" it was Hisen, deep voice ruff with exhaustion.
"I'm not hungry," Rinshiki said carelessly.
Hisen chuckled, "Sure you're not," he then patted the young boy's shoulder, "Come on, let's go home, Fu and Shibuki are worried sick."
Rinshiki shook his head, "I think I'll stay here a bit longer."
Nodding understandingly, Hisen stood up, "Alright, but don't be back too late."
He then disappeared, leaving his adopted son behind.
Rinshiki sighed heavily, and leaning back looked up into the stars.
His brother was somewhere out there, wading through the vast expanse of space, in search of a planet with a very powerful tree.
Raising his fist he hit the root with all his might, which made a massive chunk of the root explode into splinters.
The anger at his own stupidity rising, he clenched his teeth.
After his brother had left, Rinshiki had felt extremely lonely as the only child in the Otsutsuki's main branch.
All the other children from the branch families had stayed as far away from him as possible, fearing his power and influence.
So stupidly he had tried to follow his brother but halfway to the next moon he had run out of chakra and fallen unconscious, waking up in this strange place.
Sighing he stood up and slowly glided down to the bottom of the root.
He usually didn't use his ability to fly since it seemed nobody except for him could use it here.
So not waiting for an even bigger target on his back, he had decided to keep that ability hidden.
Landing on the ground, Rinshiki started walking home.
He wanted some more fresh air and travelling through the small village seemed a good idea.
He was just passing a tee shop when he heard yelling from inside.
Rinshiki cocked an eyebrow and was about to continue when a small girl 2 years his junior ran out.
Seeing that the girl was about to run into him, the boy sidestepped.
But she just grabbed the sleeve of his black shirt and his behind him.
His eyes widened in surprise and shock at the girl's audacity, but somewhere deep inside him, he admired her slyness.
A loud angry shout echoed across the street as a large fat man stormed out of the tee shop, a kettle in his hand.
His small beady eyes soon found the girl hiding behind the small form of Rinshiki.
"Tomoko, come here!" he ordered sternly, his double chins wobbling.
Rinshiki felt the girl shake her head fiercely.
Taking a step forward the man extended a hand, "Boy, can you give her to me?"
Rinshiki cocked his head, a confused expression on his face, "Why?"
The man frowned, "Just give her to me!"
Shaking his head RInshiki stepped back, "No!"
"Boy!" the man's face was slowly turning red, "I'm warning you!"
He was enjoying this way more than he should, he knew.$
But still, Rinshiki couldn't help it.
So as soon as the man lost his patience he turned around, picked the girl up into a princess carry and jumped up onto the opposite building's roof.
Glancing back down toward the street Rinshiki smirked at the man before running away across the rooftops towards the waterfront.
As he jumped from roof to rooftop, he kept glancing down at the girl.
Her physical appearance reminded him greatly of that of the branch family's.
Long thick grey hair, small circular eyebrows, and a jagged line where their hair parts.
"So what's your name?" he asked casually.
The young girl smiled up at him, "Tomoko, Tomoko Kaguya."
