Familiar Nightmares

I already knew I was dreaming the moment I found trees surrounding me. I fell asleep not so long ago, but I knew I had to be dreaming. It wasn't often that I had dreams, since I wasn't much of a dreamer. However, I did have nightmares. Very strange nightmares.

Normal people tend to have different nightmares, but I didn't. There was that one nightmare that always crept in while I slept. I never understood what it meant, even though I kept having it over and over again since I was a toddler. I haven't had that specific nightmare since the previous weekend, but I suddenly had it again that night.

I knew it was the same nightmare because of the way the trees were arranged, and the way the grass felt under my bare feet. It didn't feel like normal grass, and the trees didn't look like real trees. Though, I knew I was in the forest.
