Chapter 43

At the Ford group main board room, all the company executives had gathered to listen to the feedback from the foreign representative. Most of the people gathered in the room didn't know much about who would present, but Alex knew well enough.

Alex missed his bond with Chris, but it would take so much to return to how they were before. He had to learn to look beyond the fact that Chris was a hunter and that his family played the most significant part in the massacre ten years ago. Alex calls it a massacre because the wolves were caught unawares, and wolfbane was also used. Making the wolves weak and unable to defend themselves.

That scar was deep for Alex because he had to witness the death of his family and close friends without doing anything. The anger and hatred he harbored for the hunters and their respective families ran deep in his blood.

Arnold came to remind the boss that the meeting was about to start making him leave his office to head to the meeting room. When Alex got there, everyone stood up as a show of respect. The last time such a gathering was held, it was not beautiful, and many people were pushed out of the company. Some of the members present had witnessed how Mr. Ford did things, and they would never forget to think twice before they ever tried to cross him.

As soon as it clocked at 9:00 am, the large screen before everyone connected, and on the other side was Chris alongside the stakeholders.

"Good morning, everyone. My name is Christopher Anderson. I am the representative of Ford group, and this meeting is for listing the company's progress during the past weeks."

As Chris made his explanations, he did his best to ensure that his eyes didn't meet Alex's. He was nervous, and meeting Alex's eyes would make it worse.

The same could be said about Alex too, and he was grateful that aside from Arnold and old man Eliot, the rest of the people in the room knew nothing of what was happening.

The meeting went on for over two hours switching between the questions and answers after Chris's presentation and the way forward that the company had come up with to better the foreign branch.

All in all, according to the presentations made, the company was on the right track, thanks to Chris. Alex initially agreed that Chris would go abroad when requested because he believed they both needed healing due to what had happened. The other reason was that he trusted Chris to know what to do for the company's betterment.

He had worked with Chris for over five years and was confident in his work ethic. He had also learned about Alex's style of doing things. All the values that he stood for would be enough to push the other company to where he needed.

After the meeting, Alex left for his office. He had made sure not to say anything during the meeting, making Arnold do the talking on his behalf. He sat and was part of the audience. In his office, he called his secretary and asked for a cup of coffee.

"Alpha, coffee is not good, especially when you haven't eaten anything," Said old man Eliot who had come in when Alex was ordering coffee.

"I haven't had any since morning," said the Alpha.

"I am here if you need to talk. I saw how you looked lost during the meeting; anything on your mind?" old man Eliot had seen the way Alex was so out of place earlier. He was one of the few elders who had survived the massacre and helped the Alpha immensely. That explains why he was always close by whenever the Alpha needed him.

"I found my mate" Alex, who didn't want to talk about Chris, used him to find his mate to plaster it.

It worked well just by looking at old man Eliot's face. "What do you mean by you found your mate? When, how?" He was both shocked and happy

"In a bar, and she is pregnant with twins for me" Alex laid it out there

"Wow, this is mega good news. We already have heirs coming. Hahaha," old man Eliot's happiness was contagious, making the Alpha smile, forgetting his previous moodiness.

"Where is she now?" old man Eliot was so excited, he didn't know when to stop with the questions.

"When does everyone get to meet her?"

"I don't think it's right to meet her now. She is a human-like mom, and I don't know how dad did it, but I am scared of her finding out about who I am. Another thing, her body is weak, and the twins are making it hard for her. So the doctor has suggested a month's sleep for her."

The information was too much for old man Eliot. "What is wrong with the Luna? Is it because of some illness? Have you seen doctor Henry?" Old man Eliot had gone into father mode with the Alpha, and Alex decided to answer his questions patiently

"Yes, and he said that her body was weak and couldn't carry a baby, not to talk about the two werewolves. Her being put to sleep for a month would help with conditioning her body to be able to hold the two babies. Yes, I trust doctor Henry, but I am also scared," Alex said, and true to his words, Old man Eliot could see a little fear in his eyes.

"You shouldn't be scared because your mother also gave birth to you. And although she almost lost her life, she still brought you to us."
