Hester submitted Bette's case to the procurators and the court. After discussing every detail with them, a court session would be held in three days.
Bette was sentenced to 15 years in prison for money laundering and kidnapping. Bette was not convinced and lodged an appeal.
On the way to escort Bette back to the police station, Hester narrowed her eyes and looked at Bette. "What's the difference if you appeal or not? The court should have sentenced you for more than 15 years for your crime."
Bette was dressed in a blue prison uniform, her fair face facing the sky, her pale lips coldly curved. "I am not guilty. Why can't I appeal against that decision?"
"Aren't you guilty?" Hester found it ridiculous. "Bette, you're too shameless and headstrong. I got enough evidence to make you stay in prison to the end of your life!"
