CHAPTER 33

"I'm trying to meet the director." Yoo Na explained to Cha Eun and he had a surprised look on his face.

"What for?" He asked curiously, He could easily help her see him since he was close with the director but he wondered what kind of business she'd probably have with the director.

"It's personal. Are you going to help or not?" She said with a flat tone and he pressed his lips in a thin line knowing she wouldn't tell him with that attitude of hers.

"Let's go then." Cha Eun said and she followed him as he walked past the security along with her beside him and she smiled for a second. They entered the elevator and came out to a hall where a pretty lady sat in her desk.

"I'm here to see the director, tell him it's Cha Eun." He said and Min Hye silently walked into the office and a few minutes later, came out and motioned for them to go in. Yoo Na followed him into the office to meet a gorgeous man in his mid thirties standing in the middle of the expensively furnished office.

"Cha Eun! I haven't seen you in awhile." Dae Hyun said with a charming grin on his face as he ruffled the boy's hair playfully and Yoo Na guessed they were pretty close. Cha Eun had grown attached to Dae Hyun as a kid ever since he started working for his Father and had gotten relatively close with their family but he especially liked him because of his charming and understanding personality, especially after his mother died,he was always there for him and he offered a listening ear, something his Father had never done and had barely been there for him because he valued money than his family. He was barely around during most of Cha Eun's childhood so he never really expected his Father to come around when his mother died.

"I'm preparing for college so I don't have much time for a visit but I'm here." Cha Eun said with a big smile, obviously happy to see him. Dae Hyun's eyes narrowed to the highschool girl and he suddenly averted it but he observed her in that few seconds, she seemed lost and totally uninterested in their conversation like she had come there for a purpose.

"You'll be graduating soon? You're already all grown up." Dae Hyun said with bright eyes.

"I've brought a..." Cha Eun was interrupted by Dae Hyun.

"Your girlfriend?" Dae Hyun teased and Cha Eun was speechless for a moment but Yoo Na had a stoic expression on her face as she stared at the both of them.

"No, she's a friend." Cha Eun said firmly as he cleared his throat.

"I see...What does she want?" Dae Hyun asked with a small smile as wicked thoughts ran through his mind. He had to form a close relationship with Cha Eun's family which would get him easy access to his goals of being the CEO and he had already captured the heart of the son and his Father, making them dislike each other without them even realising it because to the Father, he was the son he had dreamt of and to the son, he was the Father he had always wanted but if still, the Father hadn't willed the company to him before killing him, he would have to get rid of his son first to get the perfect opportunity since the daughter wasn't a problem to him because she was a fashion designer and not a business woman. Dae Hyun woke up from his thoughts when he heard Cha Eun's voice.

"I don't know, she won't tell me." He said.

"Then what do you want, little girl?" He asked as he leaned on the table.

"Can you give us a moment?" Yoo Na said referring to Cha Eun and he stepped out without a word even though he was dying to know what was going on.

"Now I'm curious. What do you want?" Dae Hyun asked curiously, wondering what the girl could probably want from him.

"The night that you dropped Chan Yeol home, did you happen to see anything strange?" She asked immediately and Dae Hyun's eyes gleamed with an unknown expression.

"Are you a detective?" He asked with the corner of his lips upturned into a sardonic smirk.

"My friend was murdered, I'm just trying to catch the culprit since the police are of no help." She stated sternly and he could see the motivated look in her eyes mixed with a feeling of rage, sadness and contempt.

"That's hurtful but I assure you, whoever the killer is, you can't catch them in this way." He said with a pained and concern expression which was a pretense but she couldn't figure that out.

"How do you mean?" She asked confused by what he meant. With one look, Dae Hyun could tell that she was from a poor family, her shoes and bag gave her out and the uniform and her beauty didn't do much to hide her poverty from him.

"What do you want to do when you catch the killer, without police help or enough evidence?" Dae Hyun asked.

"I want to kill him." She stated fiercely and Dae Hyun knew with one look at her burning eyes that she would without hesitation.

"But without money, you would actually end up in jail or worse, you might never even be able to catch him at all, then all your work would be in vain." Dae Hyun advised and she understood what he was trying to say but if she was supposed to make money first, that could take years before she would catch the killer and anything could happen then.

"But..I don't know how to make money quickly and I still have to go through college before acquiring a job so that would take a long time." She explained and Dae Hyun feigned a charming smile. She wasn't a threat in anyway but he was having fun acting in the new drama as he would make her trust him fully to prevent her from ever suspecting him and then the real fun would begin as she'd think he was definitely helping her before crushing her down.

"Tell your parents to invest in the new stock trade that will be brought out next month. If they don't have enough money, I'll help." He said with a serious expression and she was dumbfounded as to why a stranger would offer to help catch her friend's murderer.

"Why are you helping me?" She asked in disbelief.

"Because I failed to help myself. My sister was a victim of the anonymous gift killer and I didn't do anything about it. I felt like a coward but somehow, I think helping you might just help set things right." He said with sad eyes and a pain filled expression which was too genuine that she didn't have a hard time believing in his story.

"Thank you. I'm really grateful for your help." She said as she bowed deeply in gratitude.

"I never said I'll help you yet, but I will in one condition." He said with a serious expression and Yoo Na hoped it wasn't a tough condition.

"What is it?" She asked.

"If only you'll catch the anonymous killer." He said and he grinned inwardly as he played his mind games which no one could ever win.

"I will." She said as determined as ever.

"You have my support then, work will soon be closing for the day, you and Cha Eun should join I and my secretary for dinner." He offered with a charming smile and she couldn't see a reason to not accept since he was a big help to her and she felt lucky as powerful allies kept coming her way but little did she know it was the devil himself in the form of an Angel. He was supposed to have dinner with Min Hye but they went together with the kids after introducing themselves.

They arrived at the five star restaurant and went in to their reserved table. They all ordered and their food was being served, Yoo Na stared at the mouth watering delicacies but she didn't have the appetite but she ate a bit anyways before roaming her eyes around in observation. It didn't take long for her to notice that Min Hye and Dae Hyun were in a relationship as Dae Hyun stared at her in awe and there was something a bit off with the way he stared at her but she shoved the thought aside thinking it was probably the effect of love, but her eyes wandered aimlessly and she noticed Dae Hyun was left handed.
