THE CABIN

They soon set out for the village, but the road ahead was quite long.

Tylos carried Elise on his shoulder as they walked down the path and was followed by Gwydion and Lariat who were walking together a little way off, Tylos leering at them with a bit of suspicion, but they didn't seem to be up to anything at the moment.

The breeze was blowing gently, and as Elise whistled softly, Tylos realized that the melody mingled with the breeze like a song.

-She is beautiful.

Elise surprised said:

- Can you hear them?

- When you whistle I can see and hear them, how they surround us, are they elemental?

- That's right, I was asking them if they knew anything about Alexa, but they couldn't find her.

- We have to hurry.

Gwydion was quite thoughtful as they walked down the path, then Lariat approached him and asked him

- Master, could you discover the flow of energy in that boy?

- Tell me grandfather... on the other hand, I feel quite intrigued about it, the boy during the battle showed us something amazing, his wounds healed quickly and then what happened with the little moon fairy, but something doesn't add up... you know what did i perceive?

- I know, it's something terrifying, falling into that deep abyss without end...

- Nothing…

- Nothing? It can't be, if I experienced it, it really happened... don't lie, teacher.

- I'm not lying, I certainly perceived something unusual when you were removing the mark, but when we did the pulse, there was nothing, even more strange, it's as if it didn't have any energy... and that's really terrifying, each animate or inanimate object has a energy potential that can be perceived, however, I've never seen anything like it, plus it's theoretically impossible.

- It can't be... that's not true... every living being has energy in itself, although it doesn't manifest it in any way and we can perceive it from inanimate beings, and for someone like you, it would be impossible to hide it.

- That's true, that's why I can't come to a conclusion about it… but well since we're going to do it, it doesn't seem to be evil so for now everything is fine.

- Did you give up solving the mystery?

- I'll just take a break, if you want you can investigate it further, just don't make him angry Lariat, your way of asking for things is not well seen by all people.

-Ehhhh I don't want to hear that from someone who imposes his ideas on others.

- Hahaha you can tell you're my granddaughter...

- Aaaaa don't touch my head...

Tylos turned to see Elise smiling and saying "maybe they don't know we're listening to everything", Elise started laughing and both wizards turned to look at her and especially Lariat who was blushing and as embarrassed as she was angry.

Elise asked:

- Certainly, you are different, how can you heal in such a dizzying way and also, as they say, I don't feel energy coming from you at this moment, how do you do it?

The others gasped because Elise had asked them bluntly just like that.

- Stop... don't ask such delicate things like that, aren't you afraid?... this guy is dangerous.

- You are not the best to say that Lariat, my granddaughter.

Elise got off Tylos's shoulder, reached over and put her hands on his chest and said with a kind smile on her face:

-I don't think someone capable of risking her life to save someone else could be an evil being.

Tylos blushed and walked quickly away.

-Well, that if he was a little childish.

- Oops, did I make him angry?

- I don't think so young lady, sometimes men can be a bit complicated.

Then Elise went after him flying at full speed until she caught up with him and by accident, she pulled down her hood and managed to see her hair.

- It's quite long, but it suits you very well...

Tylos smiled and said:

- Haha maybe if it was as precious as yours, I would believe you.

So now it was Elise who blushed and she didn't know what to say, Gwydion and Lariat reached them quickly, making the old man laugh when he saw the embarrassed fairy.

- It seems that now you are the one in trouble, little one.

While everyone laughed, they kept going until noon without problems, but it was then that a breeze started to blow, but it didn't seem common, Elise tried to communicate, but it seemed something sinister.

-Something is not right.

She said as she hid behind Tylos.

Then Gwydion took his cane and took a sip from a bottle that he took out of his tunic and after spitting he shouted: "reveal yourself", immediately after which the leaves that the wind brought began to calcinate and fell to the ground, then they approached and with Horrified, they observed that they were the eyes of animals and people that quickly began to rot and released a nauseating smell, added to this the old wizard approached and hit the ground with his cane and crimson magic emanated from the eyes.

Lariat uncertainly asked:

- Is this the malice you've always told me about?

- That's how it is…

- But this magic also has traces of its essence.

- I'm afraid you probably can't come back with us.

- Don't say that, it can't be true…I won't accept it until I see it with my own eyes.

Lariat with tears coming out of his eyes, he advanced towards where the putrefying eyes were, trying to dispel his suspicions.

- Silly don't come near!!!!

Tylos yelled loudly as he pushed Lariat out of the way, then unleashed a blast of energy that destroyed needle-like clots of blood heading her way as he ran toward the scorched eyes.

- Thank you…

- We have to leave the path now, monsters have been appearing on it long before we met, the forest will be safer, and we must rest, it won't be long before the sun sets.

- I agree with you young man… on the move.

At dusk Tylos set out to secure the area and look for some food, he began by placing his sound traps to alert him of any movement near them and then he decided to leave to hunt something.

- I'll go away for a moment, take care of Elise.

- What are you going to do?

- I'll go hunting, my supplies have run out.

- That will not be necessary boy, due to the circumstances I will invite, we do not know what may be out there, and that monster may be close.

- But if they don't have luggage on them, what are you saying.

- You should learn that not only what your eyes see is the truth girl.

Gwydion dropped his staff on the ground, but it sank into the earth as if it were water, and in it was the reflection of a cabin.

"Come here," he said.

Then they stopped on the reflection that seemed to be a mirror and when they realized the cabin was in front of them in the middle of the forest, but more than all they felt a different atmosphere as if it were another place because butterflies of many colors began to appear making shine the house everywhere.

- Come on in, I don't usually invite people to my house, but now we are partners, right?

- I would not define it that way, but for now I will accept this

Tylos said as he looked inside the cabin.

- Oh, yes you have found someone interesting Gwydion.

- Who said that?

- Did you enter here without knowing it?... Who is this subject?

Tylos looked around without being able to find where he provided the voice to which Gwydion said:

- I suppose you have never seen anything like this, I will explain it to you, it is the cabin that speaks to you and to sum it up, the voice that, although it has its own conscience as another individual, has its origin in a part of my soul.

- So this is you?

- It could be said that it is, and it could be said that it is not, it is my essence, but it is no longer part of me, it is something complicated to understand.

- Well, it's not that I'm interested, but will we be safe here?

- That I can assure you, it is as if we were on a different plane when we entered here and this place and the cabin are completely invisible and cannot be perceived by living beings outside of it.

- I can't believe something like that, it would be too convenient

-Even if you believe it or not, silly, the teacher is very skilled, have you never heard his name?

-Leave it, I suppose he can check it himself.

Tylos left the cabin and closed the door, however, nothing was happening, he could see it perfectly, but when he got far enough away and turned to see the forest and again towards the cabin, it was gone, so he ran towards the direction where he had come from and he found nothing, no solid object, there was just nothing, how was it possible he wondered if he just looked away a little, that it was invisible was understandable, but it simply disappeared.

A cane across the back from him almost stunned him with an angry phrase that said:

- You really are useless, come in at once or I'll close the door, the teacher is waiting for you.

Tylos ran out trying to touch what is supposed to be the outside of the cabin, and he fell covered in mud trying to touch nothing, his astonishment was impressive.

-It really is true, he is on another plane, I had already read about this, but it seemed simply impossible to me.

Lariat with his staff threw a lot of water at him with a spell, leaving him soaked with what he added.

- Thsss what bad taste, I won't let you in that dirty, at least clean the water when you enter understood… this place is special.

Tylos walked slowly through the door, and before closing it he felt a chill, and then the doorway was gone.
