I hear his little footsteps nearing me until he's barely a foot away from me.
"Is that you?" He asks again and I look down at him. His bright eyes are softening as he notices me and his smile widens. I give him a curt nod and return the smile, kneeling down.
"How have you been?" I ask. So adulty.
"Bad. I missed you." He says sadly, shifting on his feet, shyly.
"Oh, I missed you too." I say, my eyes watering slightly.
"What are you doing in a kid's toy store?" He asks me and notices the teddy bears on the racks right next to us.
"You're buying teddy bears for yourself?" They're those little ones for babies, definitely too small for me. I nod slowly.
"They're actually for me and my little cousins." I say cheerfully, holding one up and fiddling with its bow tie.
