Jayde

I surveyed the man that claimed that he was the last chief our people, while he rattled on about how I can save his people and how he can complete the last wish now. "Shush" I said exasperated "Yes ma'am" Quoron said back respectively and then he went quiet for about 5 minutes and then he went back to rambling.

The sun had started to set so I started a fire to keep us warm while Quoron stared at me in amazement. I looked at him trying to see if there was any treatury in his deep purple eyes. All I saw however was a deep sense of loss. Wondering what had caused him that pain I announced that we will start training tomorrow and that we should get some rest.

My dream was the same as it has been for the past 5 days. The unquenchable fire that took my parents life.

I wake up to the sound of sizzling meat and to my shock see quoron by the fire with a lizard on a spit. "Breakfast" he says brightly. Shaking my head I look him over, seeing if I can find some of his weaknesses and strengths.

"Done" Quoron says loudly shaking me from my thoughts. I quietly tear off some of the meat of the lizard. "We will begin training after breakfast in a sparring match" I say in what I hope is an authoritative tone. "I already know how to fight" replies Quoron in an extremely whiny voice. "I will see about that" I snap back, after that we ate in silence.

When all that was left was the tail I burnt it for a sacrifice to Eres the god of fire, for luck. "Stand up" I say loudly "I will not go easy on you because our enemies will not go easy on you". I picked up 2 sticks and said "We will start sparring on sticks in a swordsmanship style". I tossed Quoron his stick as we got into position and then there was a whirlwind of sticks flying through the air for about 8 seconds. "You fight only with your arms, you must fight with both your arms and your legs" I critic. "Again" I shout and we were back at it this time Quoron lasted for a second longer than before. "Fight with your brain, see where they are going to strike by there eyes and there muscles preparing for an attack" I tell calmly "Again". This time Quoron lasted almost half a minute before he was struck down. This went on for about 20 more times before I said "Stop, we will not continue sword fighting until you get ahold of your anger. Anger can give you a boost, but it can also tear you down and make you go out of control. You must find a point in your anger were you can control and utilize it. Until then no more sword play".

As the sun headed down I made a fire while Quoron nursed his many bruises. "Tomorrow we will start on archery and knife throwing" I say. "Archery is what I am best at" Quoron say enthusiastically. "Hendil" I say abruptly. "Huh.. sorry?" asks Quoron. "The herb hendil is great for bruises and swelling" I inform. "Oh" says Quoron "I guess I still have a lot to learn about". "That's for sure" I reply.
