THE NIGHT OF A BAD MOON

"Going somewhere Kavyaa?" Kavyaa came to an abrupt stop when his black car blocked her path. He got out of his car wearing a new shirt and coat. Did he just say my real name? "Www..what?" She asked puzzled by what he just said. A short smirk plastered his once scared face. "I said are you going somewhere Mia?" This time he used her fake name to keep her at ease. Lie! Her mind screamed. She clutched her duffle bag tightly. This man just killed someone! Someone that I used to know. She was lucky to have escaped before he caught sight of her. Moreover, this man in front of her was not ordinary. She couldn't believe he was something out of the horror books, and unfortunately, she'd had a run-in with him before. In his true form, he now hid away behind his sharp gaze. "I'm...I'm just going hh..home." She stuttered. They both knew she had gone the wrong way. It was clearly out of town. Still, her guardian understood her intentions. Escape from him. He would never allow her to do that, especially since she intrigued him too much. For he sensed she wasn't quite human herself. He opened up the car door for her, like the perfect gentleman. "Come on get in. After all, you don't want to be heading home alone at this hour of the night?" -- Kavyaa, a nineteen-year-old girl is in trouble. She's being hunted down by a person who killed her foster family. She ran for her life, and luckily she ran into an unlikely creature that saved her life. A cop soon rescued her from the road and got her into a witness protection program. She was sent to live in a small town, with secrets of it's own. When she finds out about the town's deadly secret, Kavyaa makes it her mission to escape. After all, wouldn't you when your guardian kills a stalker that is after you. However, her so-called guardian too has found out about her. Kavyaa is not strictly speaking human herself. He was told to not reveal his canine truth to her, unfortunately, she'd been seen by the monster.

Teenagers Scare The Living $hit Out Of Me

A month later

Seo-In and I had become good friends.

"What some more chocolate cupcakes Mia?"

Unfortunately, I still couldn't share my true name or age with her. Even so, I will still have a chance to tell her the truth after two months of being in Pearl Bay.

"No thanks, these are great."

"Thanks, my mom made them."

We were sitting in the cafeteria having our packed lunches since the school lunches here were expensive as heck!

Unfortunately status here was everything and if you couldn't even afford the school lunches here, you were immediately considered poor.

Seo-In's family ran a laundromat in town and she was a scholarship student studying arts. I was in the same boat as her, since Mark gave a fake scholarship from a school called Blue Hills High. I wish he thought up a better name than just Blue Hills.

Me and Seo-In were enjoying our home-packed lunches when a short pounding in my head erupted.

Urgh I hate this silly headache. I did my best to ignore it and continue eating my cucumber and cheese sandwich.

Then one of the girls from our class passed by our table.

'I can't believe Ricky isn't back? What do you think the student council has done to him?' She whispered out.

'Shhh, you know you can't talk about the student council here Maya.' Her friend quickly pulled her along.

In fact, most of the kids in school were afraid to talk about the student council.

Even though I normally didn't like to pry in other people's business. The way they grabbed and took Ricky out of the cafeteria shocked and stunned me.

Stupid bullies.

Seo-In had told me everything there was to know about them in this period-looking school.

First of all, their families were rich and they gave a lot of money to the school making the six kids known as Cloud, Rui, Nico, Theo, Chiyo & Nabi untouchable.

Even the teachers were afraid of them. In fact other than the teachers, they were mostly the ones that kept law and order in the school.

One of the teachers quit his job literally crying two weeks ago

'Teenagers scare the living $hit outa me.'

Which quite frankly reminded me of a MCR song.

Even the scary a$$ delinquents wouldn't dare defy them.

Hearing stories about each one of them, truly shocked me to my core.

Cloud the gang leader came from high and privileged society. He is the captain of the judo club and had a high connection with the town's Alpha called Roman. He was quite the looker and had a lot of fan girls.

Who the heck is Alpha Roman? Well according to Seo-In, he's the guy that runs half this town and orders kill to those that don't obey him, and get this.

No one has ever seen him what he truly looks like because he wears a mask.

So Cloud here was associated with the town's mafia, but it wasn't just him included.

Rui is one heck of a scary guy with a lighter. Newsflash the guy doesn't smoke, but he sure loves starting fires. He has short red hair. He's not from a privileged family, however, he had a run-in with the Alpha who saw great talent in him, after he hunted down a criminal that broke out of jail and kicked his a$$ so brutally that he ended up in juvenile detention for 3 months.

Rumour had it that he was going to burn down the criminal alive but thankfully Alpha Roman had caught him just in time before he could get away with arson.

Then you have Nico. He wears glasses and has a short scar going down his right eye. He's also not from a privileged background however he's the captain of the computer club.

The Nerds practically worship him because he managed to hack in Alpha Roman's bank and steal from the mafia himself when he was only twelve. Alpha Roman obviously caught the misdemeanour and could have killed him for stealing 2 million from him but due to his great talent and stupid bravery, he kept him alive and trained him in other areas.

Then you have Theo & Chiyo. The fraternal twins. They're quite loaded plus, these siblings pack power.

They almost beat up more than ten people that invaded their school and who challenged them to a fight. It sounds insane but it's all true according to Seo-In. The siblings always loved a fight, however, they got carried away and had a teen hospitalized for five months.

They came in connection with the Alpha after one of their talent scouts spotted them beating up a thug that ran with a Chiyo's Prada bag.

Finally, we have Nabi. One of the most beautiful girls in school and the more approachable type. Who is she? Well, she's high society since she's practically related to the town Alpha.

Seo-In also let me know that she had two bodyguards constantly watching her from a distance. She needed bodyguards since she'd been kidnapped more than once, and rumour had it that she killed one of her captors that took her.

So really she didn't need any bodyguards however the Alpha in town was quite protective of her.

The student cafeteria was so big that they even had another floor to sit at. Unfortunately, no one dared sat upstairs, for it was reserved especially for the student council gang.

Soon, the cafeteria doors flew wide open and the six 'mafia kids' (as I liked to call them ) of the student council gang strolled in.

Most of the kids kept their eyes low and avoided eye contact as much as possible. The fan girls however couldn't hold their excitement and 'whooped' at them.

One practically threw her panties at Cloud whom he skilfully dodged all whilst looking at his phone. I scoffed at their popularity despite them having practically kidnaped the jock by Ricky and does god know what with him.

I'm surprised that his parents haven't complained or sent out a search warrant to look for him.

I wish I could give flip over this table and grab Cloud's collar and ask what he and his posh/delinquent juvenile friends had done with him. But whom was I kidding? I couldn't stand up to these dangerous 'mafia' looking kids.

They passed our table and I kept my head low.

I got a strange wild feeling when five of them past me by. It was the same feeling I got from Mark and Ethan as well as his secretaries, Klaus and Jaxson.

The strongest strange vibration I felt was from Cloud.

What's up with my Apsara senses? Why can I sense animals around me yet I can't see one?!

I glanced over at Seo-In who looked troubled when one them, I believe his name was Theo grazed his hand over her back in a chilling manner.

Seo-In stiffed, frozen in her chair as she glanced at Theo who gave her short smirk, before he retreated his hand back in his pocket.

Ok! What the hell was that?!

Rui suddenly took a whiff of the air near our table then. He darted his eyes straight at me tilting it curiously all whilst flicking his metal silver lighter.

I quickly avoided eye contact with the red head but it wasn't for too long when he slammed his fists upon our table making me and Seo-In startled, we couldn't avoid the eye contact anymore.

"Hmm, are you new here?"

Nico and Nabi quickly stopped in their tracks as the others carried on walking upstairs.

Nabi came toward me and looked at my name tag. Yes this school was so posh that you even had to wear name tags.

"Mia...What's your last name sweety?" Nabi asked smiling in a charming manner.

With their incredible strange aura, I fell nervous and I couldn't remember my new identity name.

"It's..C..Chh..Chanda." I finally spat out my last real surname by mistake.

You stupid butthole, your last name is Chaves!

Suddenly Rui came closer and leaned in very closer to my face looking at me like I was some kind of alien. He sniffed again closing his eyes and shaking his head.

"Weird, you don't smell like the rest of the lambs in here girl?"

I wish I could slap him for calling me a lamb. What was with that word and the people that used it in town, including Sasha and Mr Finlay.

"I'm..Umm...Sorry?" I said making him curiously gaze at me, and he was almost about to touch my long thick braid that rested in front of my shoulder when suddenly

Nico pulled him back.

"Dude, what the hell?"

"What? I'm just curious."

Curious about what?!

"You know the rules, we're not supposed to touch the lambs unless we're ordered to." Nico quickly whispered pulling him away from our table.

Nabi quickly shot us both a friendly smile.

"I apologize for my friend's rude behaviour. Well (sees a chocolate cup cake) Hmm..(licks her lips hungrily) May I?"

"Sure!" Seo-In gladly offered and Nabi was about to take a bite out of the chocolate glory, but it quickly got snatched by her hot-looking bodyguard in shades.

"Miss Nabi, you're not allowed to eat that. (Darts his shades at Seo-In) No offense kid"

Seo-In simply shook her head whispering back in her nervous state.

"That's ok, sir."

Nabi lowly growled at her bodyguard making me and Seo-In quite startled.

Something was quite off, not about her in particular but the whole damn gang!

She quickly noticed she was making a strange sound and turned her once angry features to a quick cheery one.

"Oh my, I'm sorry girls, perhaps another day when he's not on my tail." Nabi sighed turning her heel and heading up the stairs where I caught the sight of Cloud and Theo looking down on us from the upper floor.

.

After a strange day at school, and a weird contact with the student council.

I tried to ask Seo-In about what Theo did to her, but she simply laughed it off and shook her head like I didn't know what I was talking about.

Moreover, I found it odd that Rui asked if I was some kind of new lamb?

Lamb? Urgh, I wish I could have slapped him for calling me that.

Now that school was out, I quickly headed home and I desperately needed to take care of this headache.

I was tired of growing Basil or sprouting out beans sprouts from the small pot plants.

My powers really, like really needed to be exercised and I knew the pot plants wouldn't do me any good.

My hands were craving a lot of soil, and I knew just where to get it.

The woodlands.

I gulped looking out from my window.

Just five minutes.

I know I've been told to stay away from the woods by my guardian Ethan Verrono, since there are few of wolves that reside in the woodlands.

But thankfully they didn't reside too close to where I stayed.

Besides, It's not like I was going to go deep in search of them.

I quickly grabbed my purple hoody and grabbed a torch.

Only 5 minutes Kavyaa.

Ok, maybe 10?

As I set out to exercise my powers in the deep dark woods. I had no idea, that I was soon going to be facing danger.
