The group of Loki Familia members were somewhat relieved to have gotten to the eighteenth floor without any troubles but they still had their doubts when it came to the eerie emptiness from the first 17 levels that they passed through. They went to the town and looked around for information about the phenomenon. Surprisingly, not a single one of the inhabitants of Rivira knew what was occurring in the upper floors, in fact, the news of the floors being completely empty caused the Bors Elder to make an announcement of the strange occurrence to the whole town.

A few of the townsfolk decided to head back to the surface to do whatever they wanted on the surface. Others took it as a sign to bolster the defenses of the town as much as possible in case of the worst scenario, but then again, Rivira was rebuilt for over 300 times over the years, so the worst case would be a complete annihilation of either the people or the floor.

(Hey captain, you wanna head to the lower floors and see if anything changed? Or if the monsters got a lot stronger than before? The chances of rarer monsters getting more common doesn't seem so good to me.) Bete says as they were taking stock of what provisions they had left.

Frank says as he sees the beast emerge from the ground, screeching and wailing until it saw its master, then it walked to Frank and smiled at him and nuzzled him.

Its mouth was filled with human teeth tainted red while its eyes were white. It stood at a height of 2.9 meters at average, and by the looks of the ground that cracked when it walked, it was heavy, very heavy.

(Hello there little one, there's food down there in that town, you already know what to do. Hunt, eat, and birth your kind anew.) Frank said to the anomaly as it ran down the cliffside, its teeth still bare as it looks at the town.

(Well, let the games begin.) Frank says as he chuckles and asked the Domain to teleport him back.

The Bors Elder was enjoying his meal when all of a sudden a scream resounded out of his hut.

(What's going on here?) the Elder said with his weapon drawn, but the sight before him made him go wide-eyed.

A monster was tearing through the adventurers, and it was no monster that he had seen in his entire life. It looked like a chicken without feathers, but a lot bigger, skin completely covering it. But for the Elder, the most terrifying thing about it was its eyes. They were completely white, but he could fell them looking at him. They didn't feel like unbridled rage just like any monster, they felt like a beast that was hungry, hungry for so long.

The elder ran to the beast, hoping to try to ki- no, to try to butcher the thing. Because in his mind he knew, if it didn't die, then Rivira nay, the whole of Orario would be in trouble. Confident in his Level 3 body, he swung his blade at the beast only for it to go through thin air.

The beast breathed down his neck as it looked at another meal for its chick.

(Raaaaaaaagghhhhhhhhhhh! HELP ME!) the Elder screamed as the chicken anomaly scratches his eyes out. it then proceeded to scratch his abdomen for his innards, while he screams at the pain of being disemboweled alive, it kept scratching further and further until it finally hit the insides, at that point, the Bors Elder had finally died form the shock, the anomaly, seeing the fresh meat for its young, proceeded to engulf the innards, then break the appendages off the cadaver of the Elder and swallow them as well, it then finally consumed the head and torso of the Elder before it proceeded to run to a good place to lay its eggs.

The group already hit the 25th floor at a relatively normal pace, taking about a couple hours to get this far, mostly due to the teamwork between them, and their Levels.

(Captain, there isn't anything stronger here, should we go back?) asked Ais to their Pallum leader.

Finn was weighing the pros and cons of this situation, on one hand, there wasn't anything suspicious happening aside from the empty upper floors, on the other, the possibility of a new monster in the lower levels was tempting, but considering their Levels, and the emptiness of the upper floors, the monster might be too strong for them right now.

(Very well, we shall return to the manor and report our findings to Loki-sama) Finn says as the group nodded at Finn's words.

The group returned up the staircase, not knowing the beast that our protagonist had unleashed.
