The Revelation

Frowning, Sarah exerted her efforts to rise from the bed. With determination, she reached for her phone and sent a text message to Daniel, notifying him that she would be taking a leave as she was not feeling well. As she held up her phone, she noticed a missed call log, consisting of calls from Weyna, Daniel, and Maya. However, there was no call from the person she longed to hear from.

Sarah dialled Weyna's number, her voice filled with concern, "Hello?"

"Where have you been?!" Weyna's voice pierced through the speakerphone as soon as the call connected.

"I haven't been feeling well. Why?" Sarah responded, her voice tinged with curiosity.

"It's nothing. I sent you a message last night but didn't receive a reply. I was worried about you," Weyna explained.

"Oh, I went to bed early because of a headache," Sarah replied, forcing a small smile to form on her lips.

"I will come over then. Is there anything specific you want to eat?" Weyna asked, her concern evident in her voice.

"Hmm, your mom's chicken porridge," Sarah replied, her voice filled with fondness as she reminisced about the comforting taste of the dish.

Sarah managed to get a few more hours of sleep before Weyna arrived at her house.

"How are you feeling?" Weyna asked, placing her palm on Sarah's forehead to check her temperature.

"I'll be fine, it usually gets better," Sarah reassured her.

"I also brought some medicine for you. Take them after you finish eating," Weyna said, getting up and fetching a glass of water for Sarah.

Weyna sat in front of Sarah, scrolling through her phone silently. After a moment, she looked up with an excited expression.

"Oh, have you heard?" Weyna asked, capturing Sarah's attention.

"About what?" Sarah blew on a spoonful of porridge before taking a bite.

Weyna adjusted her posture, eager to share the news. "There's been quite a commotion this morning. You know, the heir of TEDA's group?" Weyna paused, observing Sarah's reaction.

"The heir of TEDA?" Sarah repeated, seeking confirmation.

"Yes," Weyna nodded. "You know, he's getting married in a week, right?" She showed her phone screen to Sarah, revealing the headline about Noah's marriage certificate that had been circulating throughout the country that morning.

Sarah's eyes widened as she swiftly took the phone from Weyna's hand. She quickly skimmed through the documents, realising that the bride's identity was deliberately concealed, leaving the public in the dark.

Conflicting emotions surged within her as she processed the revelation. She couldn't decide whether to feel relieved or saddened by the news.

"But wait, there's more," Weyna interjected, retrieving her phone and searching for another piece of news shared by her colleague.

"More?" Sarah's uneasiness grew with each passing moment.

"Yep," Weyna confirmed with a hint of excitement. "They released an apology article, claiming that the marriage certificate was a fake, concocted by a persistent stalker who has been harassing Noah for some time now. They even included a picture." She scoffed and presented the image to Sarah.

Sarah was taken aback when she saw the picture circulating on the internet, showing her preventing Noah from entering his car. Although her face was blurred, it didn't take long for anyone who knew her to recognize her in the photograph.

"Oh, wait," Weyna exclaimed, her eyes widening with realisation. She hurriedly stood up and moved closer to Sarah, scrutinising the clothes she was wearing. It dawned on her that Sarah's attire matched that of the woman in the picture.

Sarah's throat went dry as she felt a lump forming. She lowered her gaze, confirming Weyna's observation. She hadn't taken a shower or changed her clothes since leaving work, which meant she was indeed wearing the same outfit depicted in the photograph.

"Eyyyy, it can't be you right?" Weyna said, nervously chuckled. But the lack of response from Sarah and the uneasy expression on her face made Weyna's heart race. "Is it really you?!"

Sarah nodded lightly, confirming the question that had been playing on Weyna's mind.

"Tell me, I don't understand. I'm sure you're not a stalker," Weyna quickly pulled a chair and sat beside her.

Sarah could only let out a sigh. She didn't know where to start.

"Don't tell me," Weyna's eyes widened as she looked straight at Sarah, "are you really married to him?!"

Sarah looked up and met Weyna's eyes. In that moment, a wave of emotions washed over her, and she felt on the verge of tears. Her heart urged her to tell her best friend, but she hesitated, unsure if it was the right decision at that moment.

"Hurry up and tell me. You're making me nervous!" Weyna's leg shook anxiously as she waited for Sarah's response.

"I'm sure you remember the day at the cafe when Damien caused a ruckus," Sarah began, hoping Weyna would recall the incident at the cafe when they first encountered Noah.

"Okay, what's with that?" Weyna said, still unaware of the connection. Suddenly, realisation dawned on her. "Oh wait!" She stood up abruptly. "It's him! How could I not recognize him!"

Sarah nodded and took a deep breath. "Yes, that was him." She paused, gathering her thoughts before continuing. "After that encounter, we kept on meeting each other like fate," she paused, "or rather, at first, it felt like it wasn't a coincidence. It felt like he knew every move of mine."

"What do you mean?" Weyna took a seat back, holding her head as she found it difficult to grasp the entire story. "Explain it in a simpler way," she requested.

"This house, he owns it," Sarah disclosed, dropping a bombshell that left Weyna dumbfounded.

"Are you kidding me?" Weyna's eyes widened in disbelief, struggling to comprehend the magnitude of Sarah's revelation. "You mean to tell me that he owns this place?"

Sarah nodded solemnly, confirming Weyna's suspicions. The weight of the revelation hung heavy in the air, leaving both of them speechless for a moment.

"The day we went to the club, I woke up the next day in his bed," Sarah revealed another shocking news to Weyna, leaving them another moment of silence.

Weyna closed her eyes, cupping her head, "Okay, wait, let me digest everything first. Are you saying he is the stalker?"

The serious moment suddenly turned funny when Weyna's words made Sarah giggled.

"What? I am seriously asking," Didn't find anything funny with her question, Weyna was annoyed.

"No, I did think the same at that time, but a lot of things happened, and I believe it was really fate that brought us together. He was always there when I needed help," Sarah explained.

"What nonsense are you spewing, babe?" Weyna stood up out of frustration, unable to comprehend Sarah's words. "I told you before, don't believe in a man you just met!"

"He convinced me, and we even got married!" Sarah revealed another shocking fact.

"What?!" Weyna was stunned, her eyebrows furrowing in disbelief as Sarah's words echoed in her ears.
