Chapter 144

First Bella. Now Beck. Maybe he'd stop liking people who had B in their names. They were annoying. Having Beck for dinner and them not hearing his grinding teeth. Why were his parents so enamored with him? His mum looked so excited, hanging on to every word that came out of his mouth. His dad even looked invested in the story he was saying. He never talked about football with his parents.

He had tried. Dad was indifferent and though he talked to mum, she wasn't this enthusiastic. She'd look and nod along. Sometimes crack a smile. He had thought that he was talking too much. Now though…he wanted to bang Beck's big blonde head on the table.

He couldn't wait for this farce of a dinner to be over.

"Is something the matter?" his dad had asked when they were getting served desert. This was just like the day that they met Beck all over again.

"Nothing dad" he replied.
