Joining the military

Two weeks after arriving at the city of Darfrell, the military fianlly started the initiation exam.

After enjoying the first time they ever left the village, the three friends stood behind a line of kids their same age.

"I wonder if we will be in the same grou- I mean unit in the military... I really hope we don't get separated" said Eona while looking around her.

"I hope so too" replied Lark.

A few moments later a group of 5 boys stood behind Aeon in the line, when suddenly a plain looking boy that seemed to be the leader of the group yelled at them "Yeesh, look at these softball looking nobles trying to enter the army with their pretty faces"

Hearing their leaders words, the rest of the group started laughing.

"Why don't you just return back to your luxurious lives, where you suckle on your mothers breast and not tarnish the military's reputation huh?"

Hearing these words, the people around them started look at this event. Just as Lark was about to retaliate, Eona stopped him and said

"Just ignore them brother, they don't know anything... let's just wait in line until it's our turn"

"Tch"

Hearing her words, Lark let out a small clicking sound and looked in front of him. Meanwhile, Aeon stared at the leader for a whole minute without breaking eye contanct.

Looking at the silver eyes of the boy in front of him, the leader couldn't help but feel an ominous and suffocating feeling of power, causing cold sweat to run down his back.

Looking in front of him, couldn't help but think how could this punny human look down on him.

'Wait... punny human? Since the incident at the village I started to notice that my thought process has started to change'

Shaking his head, Aeon decided to disregarded his thoughts and wait until it their turn at the gate.

About half an hour later, the three youths arrived at the gate. Looking at the peculiar looking group, the guard started asking Lark the questions.

"Name?"

"Lark, just Lark"

"Okay... age and date of birth"

"14, our date of birth is around the 2nd of july 248th year of the new world"

" So you turn 15 in 6 days?"

"Yes sir"

"Are you awakened? And if so do you have a trait?"

"Yes sir I am awakened. I also have a unique trait" Replied Lark, not mentioning what his trait's name is following Captain Martin's advice of never revealing what your unique trait is in public. This caused a huge commotion from the whole  place.

"Wow how rare... this is only my 4th time hearing of someone have a unique trait which is very hard to find in the small and weak reigon.

Do not enter the training ground just yet, let me collect your sister and friends information first and then i will escort you to the generals office"

To which Lark nodded his head in understanding and moved to the side of the guard.

"Your name young miss?" The guard addressed Eona with a bit of respect due to her brother having a unique trait and potentially being an important figure in the future.

"My name is Eona, and i also have a unique trait similar to my twin brother"

Hearing that, the whole crowd went into caos. Not only were there two people with unique trait in this years batch of recruits, but they were also twins as well!

Getting more excited the guard quickly asked Aeon for his information hoping that he somehow lucked out and found 3 kids with unique traits!

"Uuuuh My name is Aeon, i don't know my date of birth but im also around 14 years old..."

"What trait do you have?"

"I'm not awakened sir"

Visibly disappointed with his answer, the guard wondered why these two extremely talented siblings were friends with an unawaked kid that would probably never awaken and get stuck as a low level soldier in the military. Shaking his head he then said

"You can go forward into the training grounds, while the rest of you will wait until i return from the generals office.

You two follow me to the generals office where some more private follow-up questions will be conducted before you are sent to the main army headquarters for training"

Fearing that they might be separated from their best friends since childhood and the only person their considered family alive, Lark asked the guard "Can't he come with us sir? He is the only family we have left!"

"I'm afraid its not up to me... you will have convince the general because he's the only person with the authority to allow that, just as a precaution i suggest you say your farewells"

Hearing those words, Lark and Eona rushed to Aeon and hugged him with tears flowing from their eyes.

Seeing their reaction, Aeon shook his head and said "Why are you guys crying? Even if the general refuses to allow me to follow you, it doesn't mean we will never see each other again.

If you guys become strong and famous you can easily find me and be reunited again!"

Wiping the tears from his faces, Lark was the first to say

"You can count on us! With our traits we can easily rise through the ranks!"

Following her brothers lead, Eona wiped her tears said "See you soon"

waving goodbye, the three youths went their own ways.
