On the other side of the battlefield, whispers about Kira filled the air.
"That man... He's the S-class wizard from Fairy Tail, the 'Sage,' Kira Hopelet," one of the extras muttered nervously.
"Sage? What kind of title is that supposed to be?" another scoffed, though unease crept into his voice.
"Don't underestimate him!" Yuka warned, his expression serious. "I've heard his strength surpasses even that of the 'Fairy Queen.' Magic Monthly once called him 'the most talented wizard of the younger generation.' They even listed him as a potential candidate for the 'Ten Holy Wizards.' But he's been keeping a low profile in recent years."
This revelation made the lower-ranking minions stiffen.
"The Ten Holy Wizards? You're kidding, right?"
"No. If he really is a contender for that title..."
Their words weren't loud, but they carried across the field, perfectly clear to everyone, including Kira.
Kira stood with his arms crossed, his cloak billowing dramatically in the wind. His posture radiated dominance and composure. Internally, he was reveling in the moment. Yes, keep talking about me. Praise me more.
The part about his strength surpassing the Fairy Queen's was particularly satisfying.
Kana and Rocky, observing him from a distance, exchanged knowing glances.
"This guy is showing off again," Kana muttered, rolling her eyes.
"As expected," Rocky replied, smirking.
Kira's voice broke through the murmurs. "Alright, everyone, pick an opponent and handle it. Let's finish this up efficiently."
Without waiting for a response, Kira began walking forward, heading toward the heart of the Moon Drop ritual. He was more interested in observing the phenomenon than engaging in combat. The Moon Drop's mysterious properties intrigued him; perhaps they could be harnessed in the future.
Yuka stepped forward, flanked by his comrades. He assessed the situation quickly. In a three-on-three scenario, he believed it was his responsibility to occupy Kira and buy time for Leon to return. Defeating Kira wasn't his goal—he simply needed to stall him.
Unfortunately for Yuka, his plan unraveled almost immediately.
"Don't even think about it!"
Before Yuka's team could attack, golden light and explosive energy streaked through the air, cutting off their advance.
Kana held a deck of glowing cards, her stance confident. Beside her, Rocky adjusted the ring on his finger, his calm demeanor masking his focus.
"Hey, Rocky," Kana said, smirking. "Looks like these guys don't think much of us."
"Yeah," Rocky replied with a chuckle. "Let's show these fools the strength of Fairy Tail."
"Agreed. I'll take the short one and leave the other two to you. Deal?"
"Deal."
The two moved in sync, years of guild brawls lending them an almost telepathic coordination.
"BGM... Start!"
"Shining of Light!"
"Sun's Explosion!"
Their spells launched simultaneously, twin storms of radiant magic crashing toward the enemy trio.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The battlefield erupted in smoke and fire.
However, as the dust settled, it became clear their attacks had missed their mark. Yuka, Xueli, and Toby stood unscathed, their smirks visible through the thinning haze.
Yuka's cold voice cut through the aftermath. "If you want to fight two against three, you need more than flashy attacks. Disappointing."
He gestured toward his teammates. "Xueli. Toby. Let's teach these Fairy Tail wizards a lesson."
"Fluctuation!"
"Go, Angelica!"
"Paralysis Attack!"
The three launched their counterattack.
Yuka's wave magic neutralized most magical attacks by disrupting their structure with vibrations. Xueli commanded her giant rat, Angelica, a monstrous creature under her humanoid strike magic. Toby, meanwhile, wielded paralyzing jellyfish claws with exceptional agility, darting in and out of the fray.
Together, their coordination created a seamless assault, overwhelming Rocky and Kana almost instantly.
Rocky's light magic fizzled against Yuka's waves, while Kana's cards failed to connect with Toby's evasive maneuvers. Whenever they faltered, Angelica struck with brutal precision, leaving them scrambling to recover.
Outnumbered, outmatched, and restrained by the enemy's unique abilities, Rocky and Kana found themselves backed into a corner.
Xueli sneered, her voice dripping with mockery. "Is this all Fairy Tail has to offer? What a disappointment. You should kneel before Lord Lingdi and beg for forgiveness."
Toby and Yuka remained silent, but their smug expressions conveyed the same disdain.
Kana gritted her teeth, the taunt igniting her anger.
Rocky pushed himself to his feet, wiping blood from his lip. "This is embarrassing. I can't believe we're being looked down on by these clowns."
Kana growled, her fists clenching. "If we don't turn this around, Kira will never let us live it down."
"Do you still have strength left?" Rocky asked.
"Of course. Compared to the guild brawls, these guys are nothing."
Their voices grew steady, their resolve hardening.
Xueli smirked, mistaking their determination for bravado. "Still trying to act tough? How pathetic."
Rocky's gaze sharpened. "You shouldn't have said that."
Kana's voice joined his, low and fierce. "You just made a big mistake."
The air around them seemed to shift, the intensity of their magic rising.
"We're Fairy Tail wizards," they declared in unison.
The familiar surge of energy that accompanied their guild's name coursed through them, reigniting their fighting spirit.
The BGM swelled dramatically.
With renewed vigor, Rocky and Kana prepared their trump cards.
Rocky activated his enchanted ring, a creation of Kira's Word Magic. Kana, meanwhile, drew a glowing card from her deck—a new addition from Kira's shop.
"Flash Storm!"
A barrage of light magic erupted from Rocky's ring, dozens of beams converging on Yuka.
"What?!" Yuka exclaimed, his confidence faltering. "The frequency... It's too fast!"
He frantically unleashed waves to counter the attack, but the relentless storm overwhelmed him.
Kana stepped forward, her voice steady. "My turn."
She flung her enhanced cards with precision, each one charged with amplified energy. They streaked toward Toby and Angelica, bursting on impact and driving them back.
The tides had turned.
"Let's finish this!" Rocky shouted.
The two launched a coordinated assault, their teamwork honed through countless battles. Light and energy rained down on their opponents, leaving no room for retaliation.
In the end, Yuka, Xueli, and Toby lay defeated, their overconfidence shattered.
Rocky and Kana stood victorious, breathing heavily but smiling.
"Fairy Tail," Kana said, smirking. "Don't forget it."
Rocky grinned. "I think they've learned their lesson."
