Bye-bye Baby

Ever since he had found out that Gianna was pregnant. Even during that horrible time when she had run away. Nico had always found himself wondering how she would be as a mother, how she would look with a baby in her arms.

It was a fantasy he indulged often, but now he was seeing a preview of the future and he was realizing just how unready he was for the real thing. Nico's heart was so full it felt like it was about to burst out of his chest and start dancing on the floor.

He had walked into the house quietly, thinking Gianna was already asleep and not wanting to disturb her. But to his surprise she was awake, she did not notice his arrival her full attention on the squirming bundle in her arms and he had opted not to disturb her with a greeting, simply staying back and watching.

It had turned out to be the right thing to do.
