"It's like it never happened, everyone's acting so normal," Taking a Walk in the school garden accompanied by Asher and Leon she commented puzzled by how normal the students acted like yesterday's bizarre rain was just another walk in the park.
She often walked through the garden herself, The beautiful distant trees, the fresh air and the way the yellow and red leaves crumple under her feet every step she takes was mind relaxing, and the flowers of different colors blooming were the highlights of its most spectacular sight.
"It was covered up pretty well," Leon said, "Students were convinced by the officials to think yesterday's rain of blood to be a rare phenomenon,"
"And they believed?,"
"Hmm people who cannot find an answer for a particular question would always believe the first positive thing told to them by someone of higher importance to satisfy their curiosity and continue to live in the delusions of reality," he said inhaling the smell of purity from the flowers, he felt free and alive.
"Still nothing on the principal?," Asher asked Leon as evelyn knitted her brows in question, asher noticing her awkward stare quickly clarified, "He's missing, he probably ran away after his failed attempt to resurrect the skinwalker,"
"He hasn't been found yet," Leon spoke curtly annoyed by asher's presence, now that he thought of it, the virgin hadn't yet delivered his packages as they agreed before and after the swimming race, well it wasn't like he needed his help now anyway, he'd hold on to his debt to be repaid at a better time.
"Doesn't it bother you to know the reasons behind his actions?, it still doesn't make any sense why a respected lycan such as Alex would resurrect a threat like the skinwalker,"
"There's no point in pondering on what we have no clue about," he spoke to asher, his mind wandering back to Lilith's last words
"Be careful of that boy named asher, in the near future he would bathe the earth in blood and soar the dark sky with a pair of red wings, he would bring about the end to all things and usher in a new age, I do not know if it is going to be one of light or darkness."
"Pair of red wings?," what did that even mean?, was it supposed to be literal or metaphoric?, perhaps the skinwalker simply mistook asher for someone else?, he couldn't sense any thing dark about the angelic looking boy
Siting a bench close by evelyn moved towards it to sit on the old wooden bench where the bench frame was a little rusted,
"Can we sit for a while, my legs are tired," She said staring at Leon, she felt relieved seeing just a few students around the garden, after surviving such a terrific experience she doubted she had the patience and strength in dealing with Leon's or asher's fangirls.
"Such a lazy girl," Leon frowned earning an adorable glare from evelyn, "you don't see me complaining and I did most of the hard work in defeating Lilith while you slept comfortably like a baby and asher....well was asher, playing the useless virgin as always,"
"YOU!" Asher gritted his teeth in annoyance, useless?, he was anything but useless, he had the upper hand against the skinwalker until she outsmarted him.
"I can't help but pity for the future of the witches, I mean having someone as useless and weak as you as the next leader...." he continued teasing, and shortly after both boys bickered relentlessly at each other while evelyn stared with a smile on her face, she was glad they all survived and it seems slowly things were returning to normal,
She faced upwards while her eyes searched the skies, the icy breeze making her shiver, it was like sitting in front of an air conditioner and breathing in, the morning sun beamed brightly across the sky, which is not quite blue yet, but the sun has almost fully risen.
"Evelyn!" She heard the voice of Anne who ran towards her with an adorable smile on her face, like her it seemed the brown-haired girl enjoyed the early morning walk across the vast garden.
"H..hi" Anne greeted, waving her hands nervously, she was shocked to find the pretty rich son of Richard Donovan next to Evelyn especially in such early hours, did she perhaps misinterpret Leon's intentions?, could his feelings really be genuine?,
"Who are you four eyes?," His cold demeanor turned the nerdy girl more anxious than before as she wrapped her arm around herself, he was overbearing and rude as though he hated her unwanted presence, unable to reply she stared blankly at him
"can't speak?, are you deaf or dumb?,"
"That's enough Leon, she's a friend," Evelyn quickly said with a frown, "I'm sorry for his rude behavior Anne, come take a seat," she offered a polite smile tapping her hands against the bench
"I'm sure four eyes has something better to do than intrude on our discussion, isn't that right four eyes?," Leon asked with a smile, although his seemingly harmless smile Annabelle could tell it to be a facade hiding it's true meaning, it was a threat leaving her with no option
"Hahaha! he's right, I just wanted to say hi, I'll see you guys later," she laughed hysterically and without waiting for a response from evelyn or asher she dashed from the spot terrified to death of Leon's piercing gaze.
"That was rude you scared her away," Asher said angered by Leon's behavior
"Hmm you are right, I have been a very bad boy, I need to be punished," he said seductively turning his gaze to evelyn who swallowed in anxiety, "Don't you agree little kitty?, won't you like to punish me?,"
"how..how shameless," evelyn's cheeks turned rosy while adverting her gaze from his
"Is miss Charlotte going to be the new principal?," She questioned
"St Donovan is a school created by a Lycan family for lycans alike, a witch isn't allowed to become the principal, it's tradition, only a lycan can hold that position," Leon replied refraining from teasing and flirting further,
"Miss Charlotte is a witch?," She asked adorably, well this was certainly news to her, she had always thought of the woman to be human.
"Yes she is, though it's only a rumor, word around school is a substitute principal has been chosen to replace Alexander," said asher grabbing both Leon and evelyn's attention
"Already?, who is it?," Leon asked with his brows furrowed deeply.
"I don't know," he replied with a sigh, whoever it was he was sure it was someone powerful like the previous principal, Elder Alexander, little did he know that position would in the near future be held by someone much more dangerous, psychopathic and cunning than the previous.
