"Okay guys that's it for today, see you tomorrow in class," said Mr. Ethan at the end of his class to Evelyn's utmost delight and without a second further students could be seen briskly walking out of the classroom, she couldn't blame them like them she had been bored to death by Mr Ethan's math teachings, she had barely been able to concentrate throughout the entire class as she was subjected to intense glares from the girls and lustful gazes from the boys in class.

she had also once in a while stolen glances at the pretty bad boy at the back seat Leonard who to her relief had his full concentration on Mr Ethan, she feared he might have been probably upset from her ignoring his friend's request to join them at the back seat, Evelyn not wanting to attend the second scheduled class was about to dash out from the classroom when Asher spoke,

"You aren't staying for the next class?."

"No I'm not feeling too well " she lied with a forced smile faking a cough which made Asher chuckle out loud in humor.

"Does that usually work?," he asked with a smile that Evelyn found endearing and infectious making her subconsciously smile too "I can easily tell you are lying," he added.

"No, I'm not," she said with pouted lips which earned an outcry of laughter from Asher.

"Okay if you say so, if you are worried about him you don't have to be," he said firmly assuring Evelyn she was safe with nothing to worry about.

"How can you be so sure?." she said with a slight chuckle

"Cause I'll protect you if he tries hurting you, you might not know this but I'm something of a hero myself," he said confidently with a smile making Evelyn laugh out loud with droplets of tears settling on her eyelids which she wiped off with her hands, Asher seeing her melodious laughter was lost in a daze staring at her.

she had such an angelic appearance and in his opinion, her beauty was simply unparalleled and unmatched, he also realized she had a subtle shy personality which he found strange, Did she not know how beautiful she was? he asked himself.

Asher lost and entranced by Evelyn's beauty was taken by surprise when he felt a firm grip wrapped around his neck at the back and without a second notice was thrown with full force like a rag doll crashing into the chairs on impact, the few students left in the class including Evelyn gasped out loud in shock at the unprecedented attack, and trailing her sight she found Liam standing a few meters away from her with Jeremy and Leonard a few meters away casually smoking a cigarette with a glint of amusement written on their faces.

"Do you know how insulting and embarrassing it was? watching you ignore my call?." Liam said with a saddened expression shaking his head in disappointment, Evelyn in shock and fear took a few steps backward until her back crashed against a hard surface.

Although with the feel of it she could tell it wasn't a wall, it felt like a sturdy masculine chest, she slowly strained her neck backward and gasped out loud in shock to find Leonard standing behind her with a subtle smirk, wasn't he just in front of her a moment ago? how could be behind her? she questioned herself.

"I.. I'm sorry," she said with a stutter towards Liam.

"She says she's sorry Leon," Liam spoke enthusiastically with a grin, Evelyn trailed her sight towards the few students present giving them a pleading gaze to help her out of her unfortunate situation however to her dismay they all ignored her as most of them were quite frankly enjoying the show while some of them were scared to attack or offend the school founder's son Leonard.

"She's forgiven," he said simply to Evelyn's relief "But he's not," he added with a smirk pointing at Asher who had regained his feet holding his dislocated shoulder and glaring daggers at Leonard

"LET HER GO!" He yelled furiously at Leonard

"Or what?," he spoke gripping Evelyn by the shoulder and bringing his face closer to her ears as he whispered " That boyfriend of yours with a superhero complex needs to be taught a lesson, he needs to know his place," he said making Evelyn jolt up in shock and fear as she felt a cold shiver run down her rigid spine.

"Asher please it's okay, I'll be fine... please just leave," she said haltingly which made Asher furrow his brows even deeper.

"No you are not fine Evelyn and I'm not going anywhere until he lets you go." Evelyn felt tears gathering around her eyelids with his firm caring words, albeit it was kind of dumb and stupid for him to insist on protecting her it still warmed her broken heart feeling for the first time what it felt like to be protected, she had never had that before not even with her own family who saw her as nothing but a curse and had gone as far as to heartlessly dump her in a mental institution, unable to hold back her brimming tears she sobbed lightly as tears strolled down her cheeks profusely.

"Thank you, Asher," she said sincerely "I'll be fine please leave " Leonard getting extremely irritated and jealous released his grip on Evelyn as he stomped towards Asher who was in agonizing pain from dislocating his shoulder however the white-haired boy walked towards the approaching Leonard challenging his glare with his own.

"you'll learn to know your place," Leon spoke menacingly as he gripped Asher by the neck.

"NO LEON PLEASE!" Evelyn yelled out in horror

"And you too little kitty you should know where you belong," he said with a smirk dropping Asher hard on the concrete floor unloading his tightened fist on Asher's face, pummelling him with repeated blows as Evelyn shouted in horror.
