"Oh, please. Marcus, I don't care if you meant to do it or not. What happened is that you betrayed my trust and you will never get it back. Still can't believe that you still had the intent of helping me while giving your aides info."

The call ended in his ear and Marcus sighed. At that moment, he knew that he was doomed. Letting his phone drop on the bed beside him, all he could imagine was removing his title and handing it over to his Deputy Chief. It was a thing of shame and the stigma was going to remain even after he got out of jail.

Amelia had been a mistake. He regretted the day she walked into his life. If it hadn't been for her promising him a huge sum of money, he wouldn't have done what he did.
