Lana
Some weeks later
After the day I went to the library and saw that mysterious book, I never went there again because it seriously creeped me out.Besides Ra was hardly available since he went on missions to the human world doing what I had no idea of.
And I didn't tell him about my dreams, something told to withhold that information from him like it wasn't the right time to say anything.
Today after taking my bath and eating, I strolled out to the balcony where I saw Ra training with his men. His golden skin glittered under the sun with sweat as he turned, dodged and kicked at his opponents.Their actions pulled at my interest, so I went down to the training arena to take a closer look. There were three men currently sparring with Ra, they all yelled and attacked as one.
Ra dodged the first one, kicked horizontally at the second and punched the last one hard. The last one collapsed hard on the floor as I gasped with shock.Shit! Did that guy just faint because of Ra's punch? Some of the the guards on duty carried the comatose one and I was sure he was being taken to the infirmary. The other ones swiped with their swords punched straight at Ra's sternum attacking from opposite sides but he dodged with mind-blowing lightning speed. They smacked into each other hard but could barely recover as Ra grabbed one of them and gave him some really good action star moves. The other one just stared in astonishment and didn't bother to charge further again.
After noticing that his men were tired and their movements were weak and slow, Ra dissolved the training session. Collecting a towel from one of the aides, he wioeyd his sweat away. He noticed me standing at the side still in awe of what I saw.
"Ah Lana you are here." He spoke walking towards me putting his arm for me to interwine mine with.
"Yes I am." I responded as I put my arm through his as we left the training arena.
"How have you been?"
"Pretty good."
"Good." He grunted.
"So how long have you been fighting?" I asked genuinely curious, by his display at the training arena I could guess that it was a long time.
"As long as I remember, after I was created." I turned to him baffl d NY his response.
"You started fighting as a baby?" He looked surprised by the question and burst into laughter.
"No Lana, I was created like this. I was never a child and even if I was, I have no memories of it." He said with mirth in his eyes.
"Geez, that's so unbelievable." He nodded at me and we kept quiet for some time.
"That reminds me Lana, what do you think about training with me?"
"Really? He nodded pleased at my reaction
"Of course I would love to."
"Good. Because you need it to defend yourself." Yes he was right because with some of the gods against me and Khonsu probably bidding for his revenge, I was in grave danger.
We continued walking when a person flashed in front of us, more like a god. Menthu stood in all her glory, it had been a long time since I have seen her.
"Menthu, what a surprise." Ra said in an indifferent tone, there was tension between them.
"Ra, Lana." She nodded at me, at least she acknowledged me.
"Menthu what are you doing here?"
"Well I won't be wasting your time, I am here to deliver an invitation to Mut's party." She floated the scroll in the air to Ra, seriously? They didn't even want to touch, what a bunch of kids.
"Mut sent an invitation?" He asked as he went through the scroll, Menthu rolled her eyes.
"You know that it's necessary to show up right? Or she will be insulted by your absence." She said as she turned to flash out.
"We will be there." Ra said.
"You and the human?" He nodded.
"Then I wish you luck." She flashed out without saying another word. What the heck just happened?
