Chapter XIII : Seven Wonders and Four Mysteries

Reed took three days in order to assimilate the complete version of [Inherited Memories]. Aside from that section, she found many more and she learned everything she could. Except for that specific large section on her mind, she basically ransacked everything– taking in what she could have.

Munching on a red berry fruits, Reed lean her back against the smooth rock and was rewarding herself from her hard work.

She was back on her mermaid form now. It's been a week since she recovered completely. And a month has passed since she first decided to stay in this island to adopt with her new life.

She's been practicing endlessly since a week ago. That power or whatever it was called was a total OP! A friggin' double edge sword!

Reed almost blew herself up, when she first uses it. Thankfully she was away from the island where her power rampaged took place.

Every morning she always go on diving from the island to the sea. Like what she was doing continuesly for three weeks before she met Nemo and company.

That day she swam farther and lost her way. She tried to swim back but she just made it worst. Seeing the continues and endless blues– no life, no light– she was alone trying to find her way, she panicked.

Then– BOOM!

She's been in constant stress from the persistent dreams she was having every night and that day, she completely snapped.

It took hours for her body to stabilize again and she passed out. When she woke up the next day, she suddenly recall how she got out of the Labyrinth. So, she called the water for help.

In great difficulty she finally made it back to the island.

She did got a compensation though.

She accidentally found a beautiful Chinese jade flute from where she had fallen out of consciousness.

It was a pure white jade flute, decorated by a sculpted long dragon– perhaps– with three horns and silver eyes. It's body was trace by something blue. And there's a blue tassle hanging by the edge, it was very beautiful. Reed like it a lot.

She thought that, the sculpted white bead with blue hue hanging in that tassle looked incredibly just like her fish form.

So, without thinking much, she looted it.

"Finders keeper♪~♪"

"Hey! Your Majesty!"

Reed snapped out of her dazed, when she heard Dory called out for her. Hearing what she just called her, Reed frown her brows but decided to ignore it at the same time. She was tired of correcting them anyway.

She doesn't understand the brain of fishes. And she doesn't want to understand!

Looking down, Reed saw a small blue and yellow fish swing eagerly to her side. Staring past the regal tang, were the twins– Marlin and Coral. Seeing them, Reed still can't help but laugh but she endure. The twins were no where near the characters of 'Finding Nemo'. Marlin and Coral were shy and timid. Though Marlin carried more courage than Coral, nonetheless, as the Nemo's children they kind of potrayed unassertive personalities.

"...what is it?" Reed chucked as she invited the young fishes beside her.

"Hey. Tell us more about those." Dory demanded. Contrary to the twins, Dory still have her outgoing and strong personality. She's more stupid now though and she likes adventures very much.

"What 'those'?" Reed smirked as she teased Dory. She knew they came to her for 'those'– stories about the great Wonders and Mysteries of the seas.

The [Inherited Memories] were infact the recorded histories, cultures, events, and valuable information about the whole ocean realm. It was the ocean memories from the begin to the presents events, compiled and integrated into the DNA of every creatures of the ocean.

The difference is the power and the heirarchy. The higher the position you have the more you have an access towards this great archives. The amount of power you have, no matter what your standing is. Is what you can gain in that [Inherited Memories]. And Reed as powerful and as higher she stood gain complete access towards this great archives.

'Gain access my ass!' Reed thought about those three specific category on that [Inherited Memories] section– [Third Generation Royal Family] and a two blank plated tags. The first and the second generation were completely intact and we're ready to watch anytime except for that.

She bet that she came from the third generation and those two blank plated tags were the mysterious events that transpired thousands of years ago.

Reed was really intrigued about that, a huge event that can actually affect the entire ocean realm was not a joke. And she could only think of one– war.

She let out a shivers from the thoughts– she doesn't want to experience a war.

"Hey! Hey!" Dory shouted.

"Don't shout Dory." Marlin pulled Dory while he reprimanded her, while Coral nodded agreeing with her big bro. Their father said to be always be careful of their Majesty, but Dory keeps nagging and even shouting at her. The twins were really nervous and anxious whenever they were together with Dory. She really makes people worry whatever she did.

"Huh? Oh. Did I blank out?" Reed innocently asked the children. "Yes! I keep calling you but you never responded!" And Dory courageously voice out her unsatisfaction.

Seeing her pout, Reed poke the blue and yellow fish and coax her, saying she will tell them stories again. Dory's eyes shines and eagerly rushed to her side, while Reed urged the twins to come closer to her as well.

"Umm...so, what story do you want to hear today?"

"Oh. Me! Me! I want to hear about the Four Mysteries! Why do they called it Mysteries? What's inside? Are they really dangerous? One of my Mama's friend said that one of the Mysteries was near the island..."

'She started again...'

Ignoring the blabbering regal tang, Reed turn to the twins and asked their opinions.

"...we wanted to know about the Wonders." Said Marlin, hesitantly. "Mn." Coral agreed.

Seeing them closed their mouth and not planing to say anything else again. Reed looked at Dory who was still talking. When Reed tried to listen, she felt like her brain was going to burst. She was speaking so fast that Reed was bombarded with questions. Immediately she reached her index finger and covered her tiny mouth.

"Fine. Fine. You wanted to hear about the Mysteries, so, I'll tell you about them and the Wonders of the sea too."

Dory, Marlin and Coral looked at Reed with sparking eyes. Giving up from pressure, Reed started her story telling.

After Oceanus vanished and became the ocean, himself– he left memoirs all around the seven seas.

Aside from the gifts he gave, he scattered his remains across the world ocean. And it was said that he buried those under the covers of a beautiful paradise.

Presently, there exist Seven Wonders of the Seas. They were scattered all over the world.

An ocean region that was said to be covered with gold. An underwater river that flows across the seven seas. Sparkling undersea mountain range that creates Cascade of water streams. A beautiful reef. A long rainbow bridge. Then the hot red river from Mt. Llyr. And the Sea of thousands island.

Reed wonder what's so distinct about those places, she only knew few information about them. But what is certain is, those said places where not the seven points of scattered burial of Oceanus remains.

Why?

Because, Reed as a bearer of Oceanus' heart and somehow have a connection with them. And one of those seven points is a very familiar place.

Underneath the two rooted white three– at the underwater Crystal Cave beyond the Illusionary Labyrinth– is a pair of hands.

She saw a very large translucent glowing tread coming from underneath, connected to her and to others. It was different colored thread than the normal golden thread of others. It was the color of the sea– glowing radiant and emitting strong energy.

Reed did not know who put her there, but staying there helps her body a lot.

Anyway, Reed was really curious with those Seven Wonders. They were very eye catching to be bear Oceanus' body parts.

Reed believed more, that the Mysteries were the places Oceanus hidden his remains.

However, prior to what Reed watched from the [Inherited Memories], the ocean world only consist of four Mysteries– The Illusionary Labyrinth, The Deep Trench, The Dark Void, and Phorcys' Boundary.

Except for the first one, Reed basically don't have any information on the others. That's why it was called Mysteries. Not only they were dangerous, for some reason no information could be gathered about them. There's some rumors but it was unknown if it was true or not.

Well, she just have to see for herself. She plan to initiate her 'finding Echo scheme' after three month points and she intended to start off with this suspicious places first.

Why?

Because one of them was near the island she was staying at.

Telling those stories to kids, Reed will certainly beautify them. Exaggerating their descriptions, making it seems those places were out of this world and extremely dangerous.

Reed told them stories as if reading an epic adventure tales. The three young fishes experienced different kinds of emotions just as they listened to Reed's narrations.

And even though, Reed still yet to explore those places, she project what she have on mind– her imaginations– inside the water mirror she created.

It was just for fun, the kids also knew as Reed really didn't want to lie to them.

The big sun was already replaced by the three moons that appeared with their full force. The night didn't seems to have turned dark as the three full moons illuminated the entire night sky. Nonetheless, stars still visible and remain twinkling in the dark.

"Your Majesty. Come home with us! Let's sleep together under the grasses today!" Dory urged.

"No, Dory! Don't bother her Majesty. Come on let's go back." Marlin pulled Dory's fin as he insisted on getting Dory back with them.

"But I want her Majesty to sleep with me."

"Why are you talking nonsense. Let's go back, ok? Please, let's just go back quietly."

Reed almost laugh out loud from the scene she was seeing. They were so cute, Reed can't get enough of them.

But knowing Dory, she will create a ruckus just to get what she want. That's why secretly she called Nemo.

When the three saw Nemo swimming from the depths, they all went speechless. In unison the turn to looked at Reed wearing different expression plastered in their face. Dory pouted, while the twins gratefully eye Reed. Reed laugh and wave her hand as she saw them being escorted by Nemo to their respective homes. Even after they were deemed gone, Reed still can't help but chuckled– their really cute...

However, it seems that her mind is always against her and did not cooperate with her joy– an image of cute little beta fish flashed passed her mind. It was not just an ordinary beta fish. It was her polymorph fish form!

She scowled when she remember her hopeful and expectant experiences, when she first learned about any higher being having three forms.

She was overjoyed!

A beautiful white and blue rosetail beta fish was constantly jumping around when she learned that she can become any creature with her first form!

Reed was expecting! Expecting to become a mighty existence! To have big built, huge features, and strong and dangerous aura!

But she was immediately shot down.

She didn't even got to enjoy her own expectations for a minute, when the saw the video playing in the huge screen of her Theater– the word impossible!

Although, Reed can become anything with the first form, however it was just available when a being was undergoing their first polymorph transformation. That's why some tribe in the seven seas served the first transformation a solemn ceremonial event.

For short, Reed was now a permanent fish for life. She can never be a mighty serpent, or a sea monster that she thought of becoming.

But for her to be a fish...

She does not know why it had to be a fish.

It was pretty– yes. It was beautiful– certainly. It was an elegant form– as a matter fact. But it was still small! And talked about its timid nature...

Who wants to become a small vulnerable fish, that was prone to being scared and easily becoming embarrassed.

Later in the future, when Reed learned from a certain sleepy head the reason– She gave a certain sleepy head a silent treatment for the entire day. But was 'taught' a lesson when the night came.
