Making a plan (103)

William stood quietly as to not scare Ariel. He would never want to see anyone harmed. When she came down he cleared his throat.

"Umha"

Ariel turned and the smile came off her face. "Yes?"

"Your cloths are all clean. Most were hung in the closet but I left your personal things folded on the bed. Miss I do apologize for my behavior earlier. I did not mean to upset you. I just wanted to make Flora feel better. We started this job together. I knew she was in the wrong and I should not have tried to pacify her. Please forgive me."

Ariel walked over to the man. "Ok, I forgive you." She smiled.

"I love working for Mr. Marcus. He is very kind and generous. Please may I continue to work here. There are many things I could help you with. To be honest I really like that he found you. He had me look for you when he woke up but he found you first."

"Do you think I am a gold digger?"

"No, from what I understand you have worked very hard all these years. You have some of the same background as Marcus's brothers. I am truly sorry for making you think that. Miss Flora helped me get the video from that woman who stole from him. I think she was just being over protective. It does not excuse her or me for what happened today."

"Ok, I believe you and yes you can continue your employment. I don't want Marcus to suffer because of me. Please help me with this."

"I will and thank you. " He smiled and took her hand and kissed it.

After he left Ariel went looking for Marcus and when she found him working she sat down and watched. He was so very handsome when he was concentrating.

She loved the way the light reflected off his fiery red hair and wondered what a beard would look like on him.

After a few minutes he looked up and smiled, "How did it go with William?"

"He apologized and I agreed to keep him on. He is not so bad after all."

"No he is not. I am sorry about what happened today."

"It's in the past. I was thinking maybe your family needs to get to know me better. Lets have a barbecue. Invite everyone."

"Who is everyone?"

"George, Nelson and Harry, Jason, Robert, Lily, Harrison, Kimberly, and your parents." she smiled.

"I think that is a good idea but I know my parents won't come. My brother and sister-in-law might to cause problems."

"Then since I don't have to be at the swim competition this weekend let's do it then."

"Sounds good. The weekend after that is the fundraiser. I still want you in charge. As my representative. Can you do that. It's to late to get another company and this is an important project. I will pay you for your time."

"Ok, I guess I got my first job. See I can compromise." she smiled.

Ariel spent the next few days on the phone with Kevin and the rental places. Everything was set, she just needed to keep following up.

Friday she went to the store and got everything for the party. Then she spend the day making potatoe salad and baked beans. Deviled eggs and cupcakes.

When Marcus got home she was just finishing the frosting on the cupcakes. He put his arms around her from behind and kiss her ear, "Looks good."

"Did your brother agree yet?" She looked up at him.

"Yes, he finally called me back." What he didn't say was that he had to threaten him to get him to come.

"Who is running the grill?" She asked.

"JJ is, he is one great barbecue master."

"I hoped I made enough food."

He walked over and opened the fridge and seen it stuffed full. "I believe you have enough to feed JJ's army." He laughed.

"That's not funny. Oh William had the pool cleaned today so let everyone know they can swim."

"They all know I keep plenty of suits of all sizes. Don't worry."

"I just want everyone to have fun."

"I know. How about we have some fun. Go change and we will go out to dinner. I have something to talk to you about."

She put the cover on the cake and ran upstairs to change into one of the new dresses he had gotten her. At first she protested then when he said if she did not accept he would buy her a lot of gowns. She shut up.

She put on a little yellow dress with white flats. She wanted to look great for him.

They arrived at a little Italian restaurant. She was surprised.

"You approve?" he smiled helping her out of the car.

"Yes it look like it's not to expensive. I like it." She took his arm and they walked in as the valet park the car.

The host led them to their table. They ordered their food and the waiter poured them each a glass of wine.

"So what did you want to talk to me about?" She asked taking a sip.

"I have been given a property and I want to share it with you." He started.

"I don't want your property." She smiled.

"The property is a piece of land my fathers company wants. The old man hates my father and left it to me. It is not in bad shape and I think with your knowledge and know how it could be great for with city."

"What is it?" She was now curious.

"It's the old country club. It has a great pool. A tennis court. A golf range. The building itself is big enough for classes of all kinds. A place for the underprivileged to spend after school and summers at. But not only kids. It can include a mothers program and family events. A place to also run your very own fundraiser group from."

"How will we be able to fix this place up?" She asked.

"Company sponsored events to raise the money." He smiled.

"I really like this idea but will I have time and be able to work too?"

"That can be your work. I want to start the foundation and I will pay you to work it. I will also let you hire the staff you want. As many as you think will be needed." He smiled he knew he had her and this was something he could really do for her.

"Ok, Lets sit down and talk this over after the firemen fundraiser."

"Sure thing."
