Letters from the past (74)

Marcus woke from his first night in his new home. He need to get supplies to live and decided to walk into town. He would need to look at getting a small truck to make life a little easier.

It took him an hour to walk to the small store in the little quaint town.

"Top of the morning to you. How may I help you today?" A lovely woman smiled as he walked in.

"I need some supplies. I will also need to buy a truck." He said.

"Well, You'll want to talk to Kender at the stables. I believe he can help you with the truck. As for supplies just let me know. If I don't have it I can get it. My name is Maggie."

"Maggie, I need chicken food, sheep food, cow food, flour, bacon, bread, lunch meat, beef, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, and anything else you think of needed to start a home."

"Ya, you must be the one that bought Clara's home."

"I guess, can you deliver this stuff if I can't get transportation right away?"

"Yes, my son can but talk to Kender first. I get everything ready."

Marcus then walked out and down the lane to what look like a stable barn. "Hello, anybody here?" he yelled.

"Be right with ya." A young man walked out wiping his hands. "How can I help you?"

"I was told you might know of a truck for sale?" Marcus asked.

"Depends, What you want it for?"

Marcus looked puzzled, "To drive. I live at the little cottage outside of town by the swimming river. I think it was the O'Leary farm. I needed to be able to get supplies from town easier."

"You must mean Clara's place. Yes I have a truck. Runs good. I can let it go for $925 EUR." He smiled.

Marcus pulled out his phone and hit his app. "That is $1000 US dollars. That sounds alright. Can I see the truck first?" He asked.

The guy pointed to something under a large canvas. Marcus walked over and pulled it up. There was a dark green 1967 Chevrolet Stepside pickup truck. It looked it mint condition. It had to be worth at least $10,000 US dollars.

"Why so cheep?" Marcus asked.

Kender smiled and let out a little laugh. "That is what Clara owed me for storing it here for you. If you were able to buy her home then you are the owner of this truck also." He then walked over and pulled out a letter and a set of keys.

Marcus took them. He opened the letter.

My Dearest Marcus,

You may be asking how I knew you would one day be here. My son Marcus, who died saving lives told me you would come. A red haired, green eyed stranger. He said you would need this home for your family. This truck was his before he left. It was new then but I have had it kept well for you. These is a letter for you from my son. It arrived two weeks after he was killed address to you. I have never opened it but I hope it will give you the answers you seek.

Love always, Clara O'Leary

Marcus pulled out his wallet and handed Kender 500 euro "I'll get you another 100 soon. I need to go home for more money."

"Just pay me when you come back to town. Let me help you get the truck out of here."

Marcus drove over to the store and Maggie helped load the supplies into the truck. "I'll send my son over tomorrow to show you the ropes. Just let him know what you need."

"Thank you Maggie." He said before heading home. This was becoming a really strange day.

When he arrived back he put everything away before heading in to the room with all the medical books. He walked around the room and found a picture of three boys. They looked happy. He wondered who was who. He the spotted the letter. Mr. Marcus Jensen. It had this address and was post marked September 14th 1969. He stared at it for a long time before taking the yellowed envelope and opening it up.

Hello, I had a dream that I would one day be reborn. I would be given the change to live a new life. Usally one is not given the change to know his new life before hand but I was. There is a being that will come into our new life and if not handled right will cause a disaster bigger then all the wars combined. I was asked by a beautiful Mermaid to help the world and I can only do that as my new self. I know you think this is crazy but here is the proof. The Mermaid is your wife and she is still alive. She needs a potion that requires a flower that grows on our land.

Gorse is one of the more well-known plants native to Ireland. It is a bright yellow flowers that exude a coconut fragrance. They are commonly seen growing along roadsides and elsewhere throughout Ireland. They have prickles and thorns hiding beneath the lovely yellow blooms of a Gorse bush.

Take this flower to one of your brothers who followed in my footsteps. Don't worry you will be back here after you save our wife.

When you get there our other brother will need to help you. He knows the demon better then anyone for he was trapped by her for years. He will know how to send it back into space were it belongs.

Your brothers do not know they are your brothers from my lifetime and it best not to tell them. I was glad to know we would always be close.

One last thing, Your sons though not of your seed will do great things in the world. Protect them with your life.
