Ariel is dead (26)

Ariel no longer hurt and no longer cared about the world as she floated in the white sea of nothingness.

"It's not your time." A familiar voice said.

"I never want to go back. I like it here. I can swim forever." She then noticed she has a tail. She was a real live Mermaid now.

"Ariel, it's not your time. There are still trials to go through. Have you figured out who your true love is yet?" The voice asked.

"I don't know and don't care. I want to stay here." Ariel flipped in the air and splashed the white nothingness.

"Ariel, who is your true love?" The voice was sterner now and brought Ariel back to her senses.

"I don't know? Harrison only wants me for the heart in my body. Marcus wants me because his brother wants me. Both loved you very much I don't think they really understand the real me. My heart hurts so much seeing them love you." Ariel said.

"Child you have had a hard life. Then if neither are your true love you must let them go. Can you do that?"

JJ's team hit the building hard and soon had everyone captured. When Marcus came in he found Lily crying in a corner someone had slapped her hard and her mouth was bleeding.

"Red, are you ok? Where is Ariel?" He asked.

"That man hit me" She pointed to the man Harper had on the floor.

"Where is Ariel?" He asked again.

She pointed to a trap door that lead to the water. "She is dead so he sent her back to her daddy." Lily cried.

Marcus dove in and soon found Ariel and pulled her up. JJ's medic went to work on her and soon got a pulse. It was weak but there.

As JJ and his men took care of the gang and waited for Bob to come Marcus rushed Ariel and Lily to the hospital.

Harper stayed with Lily who got a green bill of health and medication to put pm her face. Marcus stayed with Ariel.

"Please wake up my love. I need you. I don't want to lose you like I did Kimmy."

Harrison arrived and they waited for news on Ariel.

The staff forced Marcus out so they could work on her.

"She'll be alright. Have faith." Harrison said. Marcus broke down and cried in his brothers arms.

"Where is my granddaughter?" A voice boomed down the hall.

Lily ran into his arms. He looked her over. Thank god your father got you back in one piece. "Uncle Marcus saved me Grandpa." Lily said with a smile.

"No, your daddy did. He called in the men that saved you. Marcus was just there being useless." The old man said.

"Dad, it was all Marcus's doing. He called all the shots." Harrison said.

"Hey Richie lets go get some coffee." Harper said. Marcus was then dragged off by Harper.

"Who was that man?" His father asked.

"Harry Windman the famous bodyguard. He has been friends with Marcus for years. I tried to get him to be Lily's bodyguard when she was little but he said it was not dangerous enough." Harrison said.

"How did a good for nothing like Marcus get to be friends with someone like that?"

"That's nothing, the men that were sent to get Lily and Ariel are very powerful too. Heard the name Commander Jason Jones of Alpha X?" Harrison said.

"Yes, he is the top of the list for extraction rescue."

"He came as soon as Marcus called. Marcus has many powerful friends. He is very good at his job to. I can not run our business with out him and you had me fire him. I had to give the River front project to an outside company so I could complete it on time. With out Marcus to over see it I can't get it done."

"Nonsense, you can do this son I believe in you."

"Tomorrow I was supposed to fly here to meet with this company would you like to sit in with me?"

Marcus came back as the doctor came out.

"Richie, I have her stabilized now and breathing better. She will be asleep for a while I gave her some heavy medication to help with the pain. We will move her to a VIP room soon."

"I want one I can stay with her." Marcus said.

"No need Doctor we will pay for a private room and want no visitors at all but my son Harrison." Mr. McKenna said.

"Sorry sir, This is my hospital. Richie this way I have more to tell you."

"Who does he think he is?" Mr. McKenna said.

"He is Hidy to us friends but most people call him Doctor George Hinderaker PHD." Harper said.

"The Doctor George Hinderaker, who hold so many awards. Everyone wants him to be their doctor How did he become Ariel's Doctor?" Mr. McKenna asked.

"He is friends with Marcus." Harrison said.

How did a worthless bastard become friends with such people. He had to find out.

Ariel was moved to her new room and Harper stood guard at the door.

Harrison could see he would not be able to see her tonight and it was late. Lily needed to go to bed.

JJ had everyone including Bob King in custody and now was checking on his friends.

"Hey Harper, What's the news?" JJ asked.

"Not good friend. Hidy is looking out for her but I could see in his eyes that it was not good." Harper said.

"Look who it is?" The doctor said. JJ pulled him in for a bro hug.

"Long time bro" JJ said. "Give us the lowdown."

"This little Mermaid is in bad shape and I don't think she will ever swim again. The drug flare up caused more damage to her lungs. Thankfully the water help a lot. It stabilized her when your man started her heart back up."

"Besides swimming is she alright?" JJ asked.

"Time will tell. She will need to be put on breathing treatments for the rest of her life. Can you get Richie to go get food and get cleaned up. She won't wake till tomorrow so he can't neglect his own health."

"Sure, What about you Harper?" JJ asked.

"I'll go eat when you get back to take over as guard." He said.

"Come with us." He picked up his phone and made a call. Within a few minutes two men in uniform came to stand guard and the two men dragged Marcus away.
