"Good job Energy Breaker! You really are up to the challenge." President Saxon compliments her, rather elated and impressed by her detective work as she returned to headquarters with her blue duffel bag of evidence by her hand. She feels embarrassed however, making the president of the organization wait in the lobby of the parking garage for so long.
"I'll let Mr Alfred know that team six that they are freed in three days time. In the meantime, I want to let you know that you have been selected to join a special squad, Code Zero, to deal with the abnormal threats. He really does know his stuff." He smiled as he directs her to a lift to another launch zone at the 250th floor of the building. It was another one of the same few hangars and catapult launchers in the complex, but up the stairs, she found a world of wonders. The place was seeming a warehouse that was cleared recently. It almost took up two entire floor with its own viewing platform of the city view and the landing pad as well as its own spaces for the squad's machinery downstairs unlike her own workspace. Filled with workers not approved as a Supers after the war. For they must pay a fee for parking their machinery in the area. They were also on their own when it comes to their machine's condition unlike The Supers whose maintenance fees are covered by the organization. The place has already been made comfy with its own couches, television screens, kitchen and rooms made for specific members of the squad. It even has its own logo in the form of two diagonal stripes. She looks around to see several men and women already waiting in the meeting area, the bright sunlight around the floor seemingly illuminating their faces.
"Say hello to your new team, Code Zero and your new colleagues!" He said enthusiastically as she analyzed her new teammates. Rather nonchalant and uncaring.
"And who the hell are they?" Shane asked as a hot but annoyed guy who is wearing a bright blue colored shorts stood up from the couch like a pervert, his face full of anger, seemingly as if he has a superiority complex and had just constipated hard, "You don't know who I am? SERIOUSLY? I'm the hottest ma-"
"Maximilian chill. You may be the hottest and strongest man in Sector A but that doesn't mean everyone knows you." A lean man with a long face, baggy black buttoned-up shirt, messy jumbled hair and nerdy glasses swivels away from his large computer setup, filled all the way up to the wall with large data drives, monitors and cooling fans. He nudged his glasses, facing the annoyed Maximillian as he continued, "Hi, my name is Leroy. You may know me Hacksaw from Team Seven and I'm your hacker and engineer who is responsible for the computer you have been using. Hope we can get along. The guy who was talking to you earlier was Iron Face... also originally in Team Seven." He then points at the other members in the room introducing them.
"That little girl with a lot of visible mechanical parts who is mopping the floor now is Baku, also known as Blaze from Team Eight, one of two newcomers that managed to successfully become a Super recently, she is your scientist and robo-" as he was saying it, a childish-like girl voice boomed out from (what Shane most likely think is) his own room, "Cyborg not robot you fake Asian hacker!" Leroy rolled his eyes as he continued, "That slim Chinese woman in her yoga pants who is washing the plates now is Shao Lin, also known as Seamaster from Team Five, you know like that watch Hanson held?" There was a long silence before he continued, "Anyways... There is that orange-haired girl, Sylvie, also called Scary Beanstalk, sleeping on the floor, also known as Earth Guardian from Team Two, your Medic and then there is-" Leroy was rambling along when a large robot whizzed into the landing zone, revving its jet engines hard. Waking Sylvie up from the lack of insulation in the large room. Moaning loudly and glancing at the robot angrily.
Shane, Saxon, Sylvie and Leroy stumbled to the viewing platform, a balcony above the hangar to see a Revel Type park up by their lot, seemingly looking similar to the Strike Gundam from Gundam Seed in terms of shape, based off the design blueprints Ernest Hugo has found after the destruction of Japan in a Super Tsunami.
However unlike the original design of dull colors when it was was launched to aid the Chinese in China during the war, it now came with dark yellow highlights on the V shaped antenna found on the shoulder armor with it scoring a now white and dark blue color scheme instead of the white on grey two-tone. The head as usually had a huge wall of tinted glass covering most of the head seemingly featuring features unknown to her. She spots a second seat in the rather circular cockpit, filled with screens and a hidden pop-up touchscreen though it possibly could be piloted by one pilot. On the top seems to be a custom helmet rigged up to the head. Though she did not know why it was rigged in such a way. The robot now welded a backpack with thrusters and a suspicious looking compartment that Shane could not identify, a shotgun, hand knuckles, a katana and missile launchers fitted at the knee. As the cockpit opened, Sylvie shouted down at the pilot, seemingly mad at him for disturbing her sleep, "Oi! Quit it with the close entries man! I was sleeping here!"
"What? Can't you just sleep somewhere else mate? I need to test the new upgrades of my decade old robot! It's important!" A man in his 20s removes the custom helmet set-up. Shaking his long golden hair and makeup, seemingly trying to show off. "That is Victor, a robot pilot here from Team One. He is the other of the two that had recently joined and he is also known as Phantom Pain since he doesn't give anyone chances." Leroy whispered as Saxon smiled warmly, "Leroy, I hope you would take care of Energy Breaker and solve this case in a heartbeat. Anyways I must leave, all your items in your office had already be moved here. So look around for a bit. You are now officially a Super."
Shane jumped jubilantly to Sylvie's grumpiness as Saxon left for his office. Finally she is proven somewhat on par with Sergio. She can finally be appreciated more at work. She laughed for a bit before settling down, giving some of the evidence from her duffel bag to Leroy and Baku who had just finished mopping her room.
"Ok time to cut to the chase, I found these," She carefully lay pieces of evidence on a knockdown table. The black sludge on the remains of the metal chip seemingly jiggling in the fluorescent lighting, it's awful onion smell made Sylvie and Victor rather uncomfortable, closing their noses as they rushed into their rooms. She continued, "These things are rather abnormal and have yet to be explained by the scientists downstairs at the basement. What's weirder is this," she flips out a clear plastic bag with a chip in it.
"Isn't that a memory chip from an ancient Lenevo laptop?" Leroy looked as he took out his larger glasses, inspecting the damage outside of the chip, "I will look into that. Finally something of interest." Baku meanwhile took the metal chip as she heads to her own large lab. Recently built with a fresh smell of granite.
She sighs in relief as she heads down the name plated doors of the large rooms to her very own. A plaque has yet to be placed but it didn't matter. She entered her room to see a large desk with her family photo and her own bed. She probably won't stay here, she didn't want to be reminded of her dormitory in her earlier years. But at least her new office was now more comfortable. She was about to write up on her reports when Shao Lin entered the room, "Hi it's me. We need to talk." Shane let her in as she sat on her bed, "ok... nice to see a new member amongst the special teams. But let me cut to the chase... do you feel that there is something wrong with The Light of Men lately? Like they have started doing shady things?"
"Yeah, something seemed off with them ever since they started having this war with Sector B," Shane said. Seemingly interested in her conversation. Shao Lin was about to continue when Max shouted across the rooms.
"We have a code 69. Team Six has gone offline."
"I'll talk to you later," Shane nodded at her as they scrambled out.
Yes. She is gonna complain about me when I say that she is a robot...
