The Hellish Todoroki Family

You and the three boys have been eating and living alongside the Flaming Sidekickers at the greatest hero agency in modern Japan, and the four of you still haven't taken down a villian faster than Endeavor. In this professional world, where every little act counts, you all have been single-mindedly working to catch up to Edeavor. Then, one night, Endeavor brought the four of you to the Todoroki household.

"What the crap!!!" Katsuki griped with furrowed brows.

"My sister invited us over for dinner." Todoroki said.

"Why the crap!!"

"She wanted me to introduce my friends."

"You go tell her right here right now that we've never been friends!!"

"Kacchan!" Izuku gasped.

"Katsuki, don't be rude!" You reprimanded your boyfriend. "Like it or not, we're guests here! Plus, we'll get to eat a home-cooked meal, so quit the bad attitude and please be polite when we meet Todoroki's siblings!"

Katsuki didn't say another word after that. He just clicked his tongue and the five of you entered the house. Todoroki's sister, Fuyumi Todoroki, greets you all at the front door while wearing an apron. She has gray eyes and white hair, flecked with a few noticeable traces of a crimson-like color, which is mostly shoulder-length aside from the ear-length side bangs she sports and the short clump she leaves hanging down her forehead.

"Thank you all for coming!" The female Todoroki beamed. "It's nice to meet you! I'm Shoto's sister, Fuyumi! Thank you for always taking care of Shoto!"

"Thank you for inviting us." You bowed to Todoroki's older sibling before switching your shoes with guest house slippers. "Todoroki- uh, Shoto told me about you."

"Sorry for inviting you on such short notice." Fuyumi takes off her apron. "And thank you for taking time out of your bust schedules to accommodate me today!"

"You don't need to apologize. It's a pleasure to be here!" You nudged Katsuki to get him to say something. He sighs.

"Yeah." Katsuki said. "Thanks."

"I mostly get invited to Himawari's house, so this is pretty rare!" Izuku said.

"Oh, is Natsu here too?" Shoto Todoroki asked, spotting his brother's shoes.

"Yep!" Fuyumi nods with a warm smile. "We wanted to get to know your friends. We're your family, after all!"

You all followed Fuyumi to the dinner table. There, an array of food is spread out on the table and Natsu, Shoto Todoroki's brother, is already seated. Fuyumi once again formally introduces herself and Natsu, while Shoto introduces you, Izuku and Katsuki. As you sat down between Katsuki and Izuku, you note the uncomfortable atmosphere between Natsu and Endeavor. You and your friends already know how dreadful Shoto's childhood has been. The last thing you want is for that drama to be at the dinner table.

"Everthing is really delicious!" Izuku praised Fuyumi.

"I'm glad you like it!" Fuyumi replied happily.

"Despite having such a deep flavor, the skin of this tatsuta-fried chicken has the perfect amount of crunch, resulting in such an exquisite moutgfeel that just-"

"Stop analyzing the damn food!" Katsuki angrily interrupts Deku's analysis. "I can't focus on my mapo tofu with your damn blabbering!"

You took a bite of your vegetable gyoza and your emerald eyes lit up. You had to hold back a moan because of how good it tastes.

"This gyoza is amazing!" You praised Fuyumi next. "It's juicy on the inside, and crispy and golden on the outside! You are such a great cook!"

"Thank you!"

"Well, of course." Natsu said, taking a bite of his food. "Ever since our housemaid threw out her back and retired, Fuyumi has been taking care of the cooking."

"Well, that explains a lot!" Katsuki passed you the spicy shrimp stir-fry. "I picked up cooking after watching my parents cook and wanting to help in the kitchen."

"Wow, really?" Fuyumi questioned and you nod in response. "Well, then maybe I'll ask you for some cooking tips." She turns to Natsu. "And Natsu, you should give yourself some credit! We take turns, don't we?"

"Eh!?" Shoto looks at his older brother in surprise. "Then, I've eaten your cooking!?"

"Aah, I wonder that." Natsu replied. "I might have been forced to stop." He glances spitefully at Endeavor. "After my cooking failed to reach someone's standards."

The atmosphere immediately got awkward and you stopped eating, glancing from Natsu to Endeavor with Katsuki and Izuku.

"I didn't even notice." Endeavor said. "Next time..."

The older Todoroki brother stands up from his seat with his dishes before his father could finish what he wanted to say.

"Well, I came like you asked. Can I go now? Thank you for the food."

Feeling the unease of the situation, you witnessed Natsu leave as his sister calls out to him. He apologizes to Fuyumi with his back to her, entering the hallway and closing the door. The room is now filled with an unpleasant silence... and Fuyumi's smiling face has changed into a sadder expression as she stares at the door. After dinner, you, Izuku, and Katsuki help with the plates while Endeavor cleans.

"By the way, Kacchan, did you know about Todoroki's family..." Izuku asked as the three of you walked down the hallway.

"Huh?" Katsuki replied. "You three were the ones who were talking so loud about it. It was hard not to hear."

"You were listening!?"

"More importantly..." You said thoughtfully. "What was up with Todoroki's brother?"

You recalled what Shoto Todoroki told you during the sports festival. Endeavor became so obsessed with surpassing your father that he arranged a Quirk marriage with Todoroki's mother, aimed to use his own son to fulfill his own goals, and drove his wife to her breaking point which caused Todoroki to receive that scar on his face. When you reached the dining room, you hear the two Todoroki siblings having a conversation, so you all decided not to enter and listened.

"Sorry for making your friends help out." Fuyumi says to her little brother.

"Midoriya and Yagi would feel even worse if we didn't let them help." Todoroki points out.

There's a brief moment of silence before Fuyumi spoke again. "It's not like I don't feel the same way as Natsu... but... we have a chance now... What do you think about father, Shoto?"

After a few seconds of no words, Shoto gives his sister his answer. "I've always thought of this scar... as something that I received from father. Mother just endured and endured... until it all just boiled over one day. She was eaten away from the inside out. I can't forgive him that easily. That said, mother is working hard to get over the past. To be honest... I'm not sure myself. I don't know what I should think about him. I still... can't see anything yet."

At that moment, Katsuki barges into the room.

"Keep that shit to yourself when you've got guests over!!" Katsuki yelled. "Hand over the rest of the dirty plates!"

"Aaaah, I'm so sorry!" Fuyumi, who covered her mouth in shock, apologies. "We didn't mean to..."

Izuku stuttered to say something, but you beat him to it.

"Haha..." You laughed awkwardly. "Don't worry about it. We've already heard about your situation from Todoroki."

"I just happened to overhear, got it!?" Katsuki adds before walking to the table and picking up a stack of dirty dishes. "A dinner party's supposed to be more lighthearted, but you ruined the taste of good food with your family drama!"

"I'm sorry, we ended up overhearing you guys." Izuku said, gathering a few of the dirty dishes to pick up. As you picked up the remaining plates with your green-haired friend, he speaks to Todoroki. "Todoroki. You're preparing yourself to forgive him, aren't you? " Before you went through the door, you stopped in your tracks and looked back at your friend. "If you really hated him, I think it's fine if you never forgave him. But you're not like that. You're a kind person. That's why it looks like... you're waiting. But it's just not the right time yet..."

Todoroki stares at Izuku for a moment before turning to you.

"What about you, Yagi?" The youngest Todoroki asked. "What's your opinion? I know you started to dislike my father after..."

Todoroki's voice trailed off. It's unknown how, but he definitely knows about your encounter with his father during the sports festival. You looked down at the plates in your hands.

"I admired Endeavor as a hero. Even when I was little, I've always known that Endeavor isn't the nicest hero. But when you told me about his obsession with surpassing my dad, and after meeting him in person, you're right. I took off my rose-colored glasses and stopped being his fan. Just like that guy Yoarashi from Shiketsu, except I didn't start hating you." You raised your head to meet Todoroki's eyes. "But he seems different after that fight with that nomu. I'm not saying I'm back to being one of his fans... I'm just saying that... he's changing for the better. Little by little. It's like Izuku said, you're waiting for the right time to forgive him or not. And as for me, well... I'll just watch him."

"Hold on!" Fuyumi intervened. "What happened between you and dad!? And why does this Yoarashi Shiketsu student hate Shoto!?"

Looks like Todoroki didn't tell his sister everything. You hesitated to answer and glanced at Todoroki. Luckily, he gave his Fuyumi an answer.

"It's not important." He said.

"Yeah. Let's just forget all that." You left the room to take the dirty dishes to the kitchen.
