Chapter 6: Eldorado's Taqueria
“You’re meeting a band at a Mexican restaurant?” Aurelie’s father looked over his coffee during breakfast.
Aurelie shrugged, she was as excited to share about her upcoming meeting this morning as she was last night.
“Maybe they like Mexican food,” she offered.
Her mother gave her father a look but said, “Well, have a good time. I wish Kyle and Stephen were here to hear this.”
“How are they liking university?” Aurelie asked. She was close with her twin younger brothers, and tried to keep in touch when possible.
Helen Hawkins smiled. “Oh, you know them. Everything is an adventure.”
The three Hawkins shared a laugh and Aurelie drank the last of her favorite hot chocolate before getting up from the table.
“Be careful, Aurie,” her dad said. “Your mother and I know you are an adult now, but still, be careful when you go meet that band.”
“Yes, Dad,” Aurelie rolled her eyes and kissed his head. “I have to go to work now, see you later for supper.”
