Chapter 50: No Horses In The City
“Aurelie Hawkins,” Tobin stared deeply into her eyes, his own hazel eyes alight with passion.
The sound of the cheering crowd and excited chatting of fellow riders faded into the distance. All Aurelie could see and hear was Tobin Moray kneeling before her and saying her name. She stared at the ring.
“Tobin,” she whispered breathlessly. “What… what are you doing?”
Tobin took a deep breath. “I love you. It’s as simple as that. Within a few months I went from wanting to be away from people to falling in love and thinking of you every single breath I took. We come from two different worlds, but I feel we’ve proven we can make it work because we really love each other. Let’s continue to do it together.”
He swallowed.
“I am asking you to marry me, Aurelie Hawkins. Will you make my dream come true?”
Aurelie felt her heart pounding in her ears. Her breath was quick and she couldn’t seem to find her voice.
