Chapter 35: The Interview
Rolling over, Aurelie looked across the room at Anna, who was sleeping nearby.
“I wonder if Tobin is still up,” she thought to herself, feeling a little guilty she hadn’t messaged him.
“Are you alright?” Aurelie texted.
Her message went unanswered, but her thoughts kept running wild in her head. Tobin had somehow been at the very pub she had gone to that night. How did he know where she was? He dashed in and saved her from Brian, and the brawl. So, was he angry with her or not? Tobin didn’t talk to her, but he kissed her, and kissed her well.
“So is he angry with me or not?” Aurelie whispered out loud.
“He still loves you,” Anna mumbled sleepily. “He wouldn’t have stopped Brian if he didn’t.”
Aurelie sat up. Anna slowly did the same.
“The Watchful Hour wants to interview me,” Aurelie told her friend.
Anna yawned briefly. “When?”
“Wednesday,” Aurelie said.
“I’ll cover you at the barn,” Anna rolled over.
Sleep finally came and the chaos of the night faded away.
