Chapter 33: Available Option
Aurelie felt a chill go down her spine.
“What do you mean, you thought it was going to just be us?” she asked watching Jason and Anna take a table nearby. “I thought you invited Braxton.”
Brian seemed to realize their barn friends weren’t going to join them, and became less agitated.
“Oh, I couldn’t find him,” he shrugged.
Aurelie cast a glance over at her friend, who was doing a great job pretending to not be paying attention. Knowing she had backup made Aurelie feel much better.
“As for why I’m still with Tobin, that’s my choice, isn’t it? I’m in love with him.”
Brian shook his head. “The guy is always in the news, and not in a good way. He’s bad luck.”
Aurelie’s temper flared as hot as her red hair.
She tapped her glass. “I appreciate your concern, but my relationship with Tobin is my business. I won’t discuss it with the media, and I am not going to discuss it with you. Let’s enjoy our drinks.”
