Chapter 14: A Date Interrupted
Tobin sat across from Aurelie, his eyes locked on hers.
Aurelie breathed, “Yes. Yes, I do feel the same, Tobin.”
With a quick exhale, Tobin sat back. Holding her hand, he continued to speak.
“I know love can overcome many obstacles, but I also know how hard my lifestyle can be. I’ll be gone for weeks, maybe even months during tours. People will want photos and autographs all the time. You’ve seen what goes on at a concert. I don’t want you to suffer. This is the life I have, just so you know.”
“You’ve told me before,” Aurelie frowned slightly. “I still feel the same. You have your music, I have my horse. We will work things out. I’m willing to go on this ride and see where it will take us.”
She looked at Tobin, her blue eyes earnest and committed.
Tobin lifted her hand, his eyes on hers, and kissed her fingers.
They finished their dinner and made their way out of the restaurant. As they exited, Aurelie noticed a small cluster of people watching from a distance.
