Chapter 12: Apology Accepted
Aurelie raised her eyes to see her family watching her.
“Uh,” she stuttered.
“Why don’t we start,” Kyle grinned. “Why didn’t you tell us? When did this happen?”
He waved his hand over the paper.
“How did this happen?” Stephen corrected.
The twins gave each other a high five.
“When you said you were meeting the band, I don’t think we realized you were seeing the lead guitarist,” her father said calmly.
“Well, we aren’t seeing each other,” Aurelie took a deep breath, trying to forget the kiss Tobin gave her the day before. “I just had the chance to meet the band.”
“Meet the band, have dinner and go to a concert,” Mr. Hawkins raised his eyebrows.
The twins mouths were hanging like doors on loose hinges, and Aurelie avoided her mother’s gaze.
“It didn’t end very well,” Aurelie continued. “And… I think it was my fault.”
Kyle pulled out a chair and motioned for his sister to sit.
“We need to know everything,” he whispered.
