The Rescue

A month passed quickly and all was well. Angel and Prince Damon were sitting under a tree admiring the beautiful blue sky when a palace messenger hurried to them and said they were needed in the court room. They headed there immediately and were surprised to see all members of court present. It kind of felt weird cause they barely had court summons. The king addressed his son and future daughter in law and said it was time for the tournament of kingdoms. The tournament of kingdoms was simply a competition among all five kingdoms. Damon was skeptical as always till the king assured him that killing was not allowed in the competition. He agreed to do it and so did Angel. The competition was held between the crown princes of all kingdoms. It was also a way of displaying the prince of each kingdom and how strong they were. The prince would then be asked to choose a partner to compete with. The king added that for the past thirty years, their kingdom has always been losing and he hoped Damon could bring them victory. Damon assured his father that victory will be theirs and the king was at ease because he trusted his son. When they left the court, the bird Angel left with the team of bandits came to her. The bandits reported that a group of masked men have been operation in a cave in the forest and they suspected these people were up to no good. Lately, there have been cases of missing ladies in the elf kingdom. The bandits suspected that these people were responsible. Angel shared this with Damon and he suggested they go check it out themselves since her spies were on a mission. Angel agreed and opened a transport gate to the location of the bandits. She was so shocked to see what was going on there. The bandits had renovated the place and everything was so beautiful. Some had picked up various careers such as hunting and farming. They had already established clinics and many more. They even had a chief who was the previous head of the bandits. The chief of the little village of bandits decided to lead them and show the way to the location of the black clan. When they got there, Angel and Damon felt a familiar aura around and realized the spies were there. Angel using her god eyes spell found the location of her spies who were hiding in the bushes around waiting to investigate the clan of people in black. The two decided to sit in the trees and observe their actions. In no time, the spies skillfully knocked down all the people guarding the cave. Damon nodded his head and commended Angel for training them well. She replied telepathically that the prince keep his voice low because the spies can figure them out and the observation would not be fun anymore. She was right as Ariel one of the female spies among the five shot an arrow their direction. Ariel being an archer also had really good hearing abilities and she could also trace the position of the source of sound waves. They evaded her arrow and slowly descended making sure they were invisible to the spies. The spies walked into the cave and the two followed them slowly. The spies skillfully knocked out every guard on the way and finally they got to the location of the prisoners. They were indeed the missing female elves. But something was wrong. Their spirit affinity could not be felt. Unlike humans, all elves had their own spirits. The leader of the spies asked them what happened and they said the dark elf had drained away their spiritual powers. The spies immediately became alarmed as the dark elf was a formidable foe to behold. The spies took all the prisoners and begun to escape but when they got out, the dark elf was already waiting for them with an army of about thirty men. Taking out thirty men was no problem for the spies but the problem was that the men had been infused with the power of the dark elf meaning no matter how many times they knocked them out or even injure them, they'll rise again. This was because the dark elf was known to have the best regeneration and healing magic after the previous witch queen and king. The dark elf sent his men and the spies moved to intercept them immediately. Ariel was ordered to protect the elves and Angel was really proud of her spies for not giving up during tough times. Sometime later, the spies were beaten because no matter how many times they knocked down or injured the black elf's men, they always healed and came back. Just when all hope was lost, Angel and Damon came out of hiding and Damon healed all the spies. They were teleported from their positions on the battle field and brought to the location of the female elves. Angel built a barrier around the female elves and her spies while Damon used his spell "wrath of the heavens" to defeat and absorb the spiritual energies of the dark elf and his men. He returned the spirits to their original owners and the lady elves were really happy. They all went to the small village of the bandits and rested for a while. They were teleported to the gate of the elf kingdom by the leader of the spies and Angel was shocked he learnt teleportation magic so quickly. He robbed the back of his head and replied that it was because he had a great teacher. When they were allowed in, they realized how beautiful the elf kingdom was. It was really an amazing site to behold. The solders that led them and the rescued elves led them to the palace to have an audience with the king. As they went, Damon telepathed to them all to keep it a secret that he is a prince. They all smiled and the rescued elves did not know why the spies and the two people were smiling but they decided not to be too nosy.
