"I don't remember much about that day, but I do remember burying my brother in the clan we had been born into. And when my mother, the one who kicked us out of the clan in the first place, tried to stop me. I was... Cold, cold beyond belief. I didn't even give her a chance to redeem herself like I normally would..."
Pyo Kang looked down at the table while telling me where he had been, the weeks he had spent wandering the streets of Zhongyuan randomly. Searching for a way to find me, slowly being corrupted into Qi Deviation by the memories that were haunting him.
One part stuck out to me, his clan. Normally clans don't kick out their members, especially if they're the children of the clan leader.
"Pyo Kang, why did your clan kick you out?"
"... Because we were weak..." Pyo Kang replied hesitantly.
Because they were weak? What clan's dislike weakness?
"Oh, ohhhhh, Pyo Kang, did they change your name when you and your brother got kicked out?"
"Yes, our names used to be Mun Kang and Mun Yong. But I prefer the name that I have now."
Mun Kang! Pyo Kang is the son of the lowest ranked member of the Four Great Demons? And he killed her? Pyo Kang what have you done!?
Making an enemy of the Demonic Cult was the last thing we needed right now! Even if the Demonic Cult is weakened right now because of the previous Heavenly Demon's death, they still have enough manpower to keep the balance between the three major groups of Jianghu!
I was going to become the enemy of the Demonic Cult in the future, but now was far too early. I needed to wait for the Siege of Mount Song to arrive to make my debut to the Demonic Cult. But Pyo Kang had gone and killed on the Four Great Demons, now they would stop at nothing to bring us down.
"Pyo Kang! Did anyone follow you after you left?"
"I-I don't know, every time I looked at someone while walking, I would keep seeing the battle with the Violet Dawn clan."
Shit! This is bad, it was only a matter of time before one of the other Great Demons found out about the death within their ranks. And if more than one of them came at once, we wouldn't be ready to face them.
The only woman in the Four Great Demons, Mun Ah-Hyun, was actually the weakest of the current Four Great Demons. She had only claim that position because of what happened six years ago, when both the Heavenly Demon and the previous Fourth Great Demon had died at the hands of the Mount Song Sect.
Their death was their own fault, the Heavenly Demon had tried leading an army of two thousand cultists against the Mount Song Sect. Only the dismembered body of the Heavenly Demon and his broken sword was returned to the Demonic Cult.
That day six years ago was one of the very few times that Sect Leader of Mount Song returned to his physical body for combat. And it was because of the Sect Leader's involvement that none of the members of Mount Song got hurt, and that all two thousand members of the Demonic Cult were killed with mercy.
"Damn it... Pyo Kang, now that you've returned, I think it's due time we resumed our training together." I said, standing up from the table filled with plates of food.
"Our training? Why do we need to do that? If one of the Four Great Demons is weak enough to be killed by me, surely we won't have to worry about the other three."
"Pyo Kang, you beat your mother because she didn't think you would kill her, the other Great Demons won't give you that advantage."
I turned my head to a half-demolished wall with a disappointed gaze and spoke to the wall. "Baek Il, I know you're listening to this, come in."
Baek Il stepped out from behind the half-destroyed wall with his hand scratching the back of his head. "You caught me, but if you knew I was there, why did you let me listen in?"
"You needn't know, but since you're here, gather the executives outside the cult leader building. It's time we moved."
"We're moving? To where and why?"
"Weren't you listening in on the conversation? The Four Great Demons of the Demonic Cult may come after us, so we need to move somewhere far away just in case they followed Pyo Kang. And thankfully I know just the place to go to."

When hiding from an enemy, where is the best place to hide? In the base of another enemy? In a place that not a soul in the world could find? All these answers are good, but incorrect.
The best place to hide is a place your enemy cannot or will not search. And in this case, they wouldn't be searching their own territory for us.
Within the Ten Thousand Mountain range, there lied a mountain where not even the Heavenly Demon would visit. The mountain was thought to be cursed by a corrupt god millennia ago, as those who would enter without a certain slate of permission would inexplainable die.
But the truth was much simpler, only those who had the slate of permission knew where the traps were. And only those who had a slate of permission knew how to escape the traps that would kill even the immortals of Mount Song.
But I am one of the few who know how to skip the traps entirely, as the future has brought me many gifts in this old day and age. And the best part is, this place is perfect for training the body, qi, and spirit of a martial artist.
There would be plenty to do during the time we spend hiding here, training the executives, teaching Pyo Kang how to control his Convergent Sword, and even training my blade skills to the peak they can reach.
But such a journey would be long, and with the executives having no internal energy, it would only be longer.
"Pyo Kang, eat well and rest well. We leave tomorrow." I said as I walked out of the building and toward the cult leader building with a smug grin gleaming from my face.
