"A mark?" his expression changed immediately. A frown appeared on his face as he walked to where I sat. He looked at me for some time and asked "How long as it has been there?"
"When I first came here," I replied, trying my best to control my trembling hands.
"Do not be afraid, my lady," Lord Walter told me. "The marks on the women were fresh. It was given them this morning by a beast and not a human."
What changed the fact that I had the mark? Lord Walter knew what the mark stood for, but he did not tell me the meaning.
"You should tell me everything I knew to know about this place and this…stupid mark," I cried, hoping he would have a change of heart.
"Your mark might seem the same with the dead girl, but it's not, my lady," he shook his head. "You should ask your husband about your mark or anything you need to know about this place."
