As they rushed down the hall I ran out on my tip-toes through the kitchen and out the door catching a glimpse of muddy footprints as I went. I gently pushed opened the door and closed it behind me before running off down the steps and behind the house. I gathered my skirts and poured a ring of porlain around me and quickly pulled out the spell paper and whispered to it my destination before pressing the center of the paper between my fingers, feeling the paper burn away between them. I dropped the paper into the ring just as it lit up in flames. The circle lit up white and I hurried to gather my skirts within the boundary before the portal opened. I closed my eyes as the portal opened and a flash of light appeared. I felt myself fall through the portal and down into the void but then everything stopped and I felt my body tilt and fall to the right.
