Thread creature thingie

I looked to the creature, it's body, like I've already said, was made from a blackish thread. When I used Soul Sense I noticed that it didn't have a soul, like at all.

It's existence made no sense to me, how can something exist without a soul, or am I just misunderstanding the purpose of a soul.

And I was, partly anyway. You don't need a soul to live, on the contrary, even if you have a soul, it's not what brings you to life. It is however what is used to become immortal, however, that is not important to this situation.

The creature looked at all of us and seemed like it didn't know who to attack. I don't know why but it seemed to be angry at all of us, seemingly not knowing who was it's true target.

Then, it saw me and it suddenly went berserk. It's aura that had been weak suddenly exploded, eruptin and causing a force that nearly threw us into the air.

"What the fuck is this thing?" Aella and Markus' weapons were ineffective on this thing, mostly because a rapier isn't meant for cutting and the axe seemed to mostly focus on blunt force instead of cutting.

I had nothing to use for cutting, I had already tried creating knives and swords or any other weapons but I couldn't for some reason, probably the system prohibiting me just like it did with Stone Armour.

{Event recognized as emergency, allowing user access to assimilated weapon: Ratio.

Note: The conditions for the use of this weapon have not yet been fulfilled, thus, the weapon will be severely weakened.}

Suddenly a weapon appeared in my hand, it's form was that of a basic sword, no special decorations or anything, it seemed that these were also a part of it's abilities probably giving the user a ability unique to them.

For now it was just a really sharp and sturdy sword. The creature ran towards me in rage, reaching an unprecidented speed, incocievable by me.

I didn't really know how to use a sword so I just slashed it in front of me and hoped it would cut the thing.

{Weapon skill: Dimensional Slash (weakened) activated}

It turned out I was wrong about it just being a normal blade, it seemed to have access to weakened versions of it's skills.

It stopped after being hit by my attack, screaming in pain as it's threads were cut.

Suddenly a blob of shadow appeared behind the creature, I hadn't seen it approach or anything, it wasn't there, and then it was. The blade absorbing the light around it told a different story though.

The wielder cut the creature faster than I could even see, completely destroying it. The shadows dissapated and I saw that it was Nagi, the blade was the last to stop being covered in the darkness.

{Event Completed

Mvp: Nagiliant (Runner-up: Lizbeth Johnson}

The blade in my hands dissapeared faster then I could even blink. I looked at the creature, it really had just been a creature made from black threads, nothing else. I could also feel that it hadn't had the ability to hide it's soul, it truly just didn't have one.

"Uhm, what just happened."

Nagi looked at me. "I just used my weapons skill to sneak up on it and destroy it."

"No, that's not what I'm talking about. I mean, why was the system unable to pull my rewards."

Everyone looked up at me in surprise. Aella, like most times, was the first to speak.

"That should be impossible, the system is unable to lie and it also can't promise a reward without being able to give it."

"Did your system reboot? I've heard of things like this happening but it would then reboot and work just fine." This was Terry.

"Yeah, it did, but then it was unable to pull it again, then it told me that I could choose another that was worth less or was equal to the worth of the reward offered."

Nagi, Markus and Aella looked at each other.

"Have you ever heard of the god named Kvalir?" Markus asked me.

"Yeah, I have his blessing, why?"

"Then I'm entirely sure of what happened. Kvalir is a being that doesn't seem to be affected by the rules of the system, in fact he seems to be able to control it. He is the only god that even Aurelion fears, mostly because he does whatever he wants."

"So, you're saying he manipulated the system to let me chose?" While asking that, I walked towards the creature and started eating it, not even realizing I was doing it.

"Yes, also, why are you eating that thing?"

I looked to my hands, seeing that I was actually doing it, I shrugged, then I swallowed it whole and went on with the conversation, Terry answered for me.

"She has the Gluttony skill, it just makes her eat anything even remotely edible, you know how the sin and virtue skills can influence someone's personality."

They nodded in understanding, later I learned that this also answered the question of where everything goes after I eat it, turns out the gluttony creates an entire universe in your belly. Yes, that's right, an entire universe.

Back to the topic at hand. Diana got our attention. She told us of the choice she'd been given and Markus was the one who gave her advice.

"I'd say, become a humanoid, in your human body, you'd hit a will after while, that's something that can only be undone by becoming a humanoid anyways. Also, I recommend chosen the last one, you don't know what it is but since the sytem recommends it, it's probably your best option."

I was pretty surprised that they told her to just leave her humanity, physically at least, behind, but that's what they did.

Finally, I noticed I hadn't gotten a notification for eating the thing, it seemed that it would take some time to digest.

Going back to camp, Diana chose her new form and went to sleep.
