Thanks giving / Drinking game

The sun began to subtly sneak through the blinds of the guest bedroom. Kara was sleeping peacefully next to the Luthor who examined her beautiful features in awe. Her full pink lips in a pouting formation with her cheeks being squished by the pillow, her eye lids and luscious lashes covering her deep ocean eyes. The Luthor never truly believed in love. From losing her mother as a child to being raised in the household she was, she never experienced something like it.

The way she felt while watching the super in the moment almost brought her to tears. Her heart was beating heavily against her chest, and she was sure it was beating for Kara. When the reporter walked into her office for the first time, she left an everlasting imprint on the Luthor with her exquisite and special spirit. She was the first genuine person she had met, the first person who could ever light up a dim room with just her smile. The first person she would happily take a bullet for.

Kara let out a breath of air, slowly stretching her tired limbs as she rubbed her tired eyes awake, meeting Lenas beaming emerald eyes.

"Le, hey." She smiled softly with a hint of shyness, getting all of her stretches out.

"Good morning my love." Lenas voice was soft, her lips curving up happily.

Karas heart fluttered at the nick name. "Good morning." Her cheeks turned a soft shade of pink under the Luthors gaze.

"Ms Danvers, are you blushing?" She teased furrowing her eyebrows, laying her head on the palm of her hand.

"Ms. Luthor, that is an inappropriate question." The super teased back, reaching her hand out placing it softly against the Luthors cheek, connecting Lenas lips slowly with her own. Pulling away after a moment.

"Kara?" Lena said as if it was a question if she can continue. Nervousness built up inside of her and she didn't know why. She wasn't completely sure what she even wanted to say.

"What is it Le." She responded gently, running her fingers along the Luthors naked arm.

"I need you to know something." Her voice got serious, genuine.  "I have always loved you, since the day I laid eyes on you, that didn't start when you became a man. That was the first time I was able to show you because.. When I would look at you before, I always froze under your gaze, your beauty. You always sent shivers down my spine." She smiled slightly, her eyes still serious. Kara watched her intently. "It scared me, the way you made me feel, although I was never able to admit that to myself.. I fell in love with you Kara, who you are, the way you look, every inch of your soul, even the dark sides." She paused trying to find the words, staring into the reporters soft blue ones. "I don't want you to think that you being a man is what sparked some sort or attraction. I wanted you back so desperately, but with you not looking like you, I was able to let go a little, like I could talk to you without having a heart attack." They both chuckled, their eyes shining with love. "I love you Kara. I only want you." She emphasized 'you'. "Words will never be able to describe how how much I love you, Ms.Danvers." She blushed, knowing she couldn't hold the eye contact for much longer without her heart bursting.

Karas eyes were glossy, tears threatening to escape. She was sure the edges of her lips were touching her eyes by how goofy she was smiling but she couldn't help it. "I love you to Lena." Her voice almost cracking. She moved closer to the Luthor hugging her tightly, not wanting to ever let go, whispering the next words that just escaped her mouth without thought, "always and forever.

When everyone was awake they came down the stairs greeting each other with a 'happy thanksgiving' and lingering hugs. All of them together preparing the food, but this year it wasn't stressful, everyone was calm, and genuinely just grateful and happy to be around their loved ones. Alex and Maggie were very close and affectionate the whole time, joy beaming off of them, making the others smile. Kara and Lena stole many glances at each other, soft and shy smiles plastered on their faces.

"Thank you girls for coming over for thanksgiving." Eliza said warmly, directed towards everyone. She felt lonely a majority of the time, but having everyone around reminded her why this life is so beautiful. She couldn't imagine a more perfect family.

"Always mom." Alex said happily.

Later in the afternoon, they began setting the table and there was a knock on the door. "I got it!!" Pearl beamed run over and opening it. " Hey guys! You made it just in time dinner is ready!" She said excitedly.

Derick, Sam and Ruby all entered as they arrived at the same time. Derick inhaled deeply, delight filling his nostrils. "The food smells amazing!" He said pleased.

Pearl pulled Ruby into the living room excited to have another kid there, even though she's older. Sam chuckled at the sight as did the rest. "Thank you for inviting us." Sam stated shyly, playing with her delicate fingers.

"Ofcourse sweetheart." Eliza smiled warmly. "Now come in already and make yourself at home!"

Everyone greeted the new comers. "Hey Kara." Derrick approached Kara looking slightly unsettled as he glanced over at Lena who was already looking at him.

"Derick hey!" She smiled kindly. "Will you stay after dinner, Eliza wants to take the girls to go rollerskating if that's okay with Sam of-course, we are planning on playing some drinking games!"

"Mom can I go?" Ruby asked with pleading eyes. After a few moments Sam agreed causing the two girls to grin broadly.

"Cmon Derrick, don't be a Debby downer." Maggie teased.

Derick was hesitant but shrugged saying "Why not?" Which made the others happy. Lena knew where her and Kara stood, but she wasn't so sure about Dericks intentions, the thought made her stomach twist but she pushed it away.

They were all seated at the table, digging into their plates, constantly commenting how good its tasting."Danvers, I cannot bare sitting next to you with you eating like that.." Maggie said in disgust causing the rest to giggle.

"Don't even start with Maggie." Alex's eyes were wide looking at her in disbelief. "I have seen way worse from you." She huffed, putting some pepper on her potato's eager to dig in again.

"I may be a pig sometimes but I have ATLEAST some manners! We have children here Danvers and you're setting a bad example." She said while laughing lightly.

"I am convinced our kids will learn their bad mannerism from you Sawyer, sometimes you really don't know when to shut your mouth." She chuckled, her red hair falling slightly over her eyes.

.. the words replayed in her head, sadness creeping up in her. The room became uncomfortably quiet, awkward gazes being shared ever so often and the sound of forks scraping against the plates. Maggie just stared down at her food remembering why they had split up. Did she make a mistake getting back with Alex? Is she setting herself up for another heart break? Derick and Sam were blissfully unaware of where the tension came from. They shifted awkwardly in their seats.

Derick shyly spoke up, "I'm sorry I farted, I'm sensitive to dairy I didn't mean to make anything awkward." He forced a chuckle trying to lighten up the mood, his cheeks a crimson red by guilt and embarrassment.

"Seriously Derick!" Kara scoffed as she began to crack, the rest followed. He was really a tomato now. Alex and Maggie looked at each other very momentarily, uncomfortably looking away then focusing back on the meal.

Lena started small talk with Sam, asking her about her job, then the rest started to lighten up chatting with each other.

After dinner everyone pitched in to clean up, Kara and Lena did the dishes together, giggling and whispering constantly, sharing some flirty looks. The rest were on the couch now, besides Eliza and the kids who had just left. Derick watched the Super and the Luthor from afar, him and Maggie drinking together, Alex and Sam getting the rest of the drinks ready, dimming the lights and turning on some quiet, slightly upbeat/romantic background music. "How long have they been together?" He asked Maggie, his eyes lingering on Kara.

"I'm not sure, I think a couple months or more." She replied noticing his gaze on the blondie. She looked around unsure before sipping her beer and bringing her attention back to him. "You and Kara were friends in high school?" She asked making conversation.

"Uuhmm.. yeah, yeah we were." He weakly smiled turning his gaze away from the two love birds. "We would hang out pretty often."

" I wish I could have met her in highschool, she would have been fun to tease and bully around." She said laughing. "Little Danvers is something else." She smiled. Alex and Sam talking in the background.

"She really is." He beamed subtly. Kara and Lena made their way to the living room with the others now.

" I flew here on a bus." Lena mocked her girlfriend giggling. Kara crinkled her nose rolling her eyes in defeat nudging the Luthor.

"Watcha weirdos doing?" Kara said walking up to the speaker turning it up, Animals from Maroon 5 playing.

"Oh just chatting with Derick here while Alex neglects me." Maggie said pouting looking at the red head who looked at her and smile with annoyance plastered on her face.

"Aww my little baby needs attention?" She said in a baby voice approaching her girlfriend sitting on the floor by her, meeting her loving gaze. Maggie smiled at her as the red head sat up drinks on the floor for everyone, one special for her alien sister. She waved everyone to join her, to which they obliged.

"Okay." The red had clapped her hands together. "Everyone has to take a shot before we start the game, and whoever fails to keep a strait face, has to take another." She grinned, causing them all to groan.

Well, they all took 2 shots. Derick went and sat down by Kara smiling at her, Lena scooted closer to the reporter. Maggie and Alex tried to ignore their earlier occurrence and sandwiched into each other being all lovey dovey and affection again. Sam sat by Alex as well, giving her a kind smile then looking down at the Jenga blocks they set up.

(Some blocks there are)

"Okay." Alex spoke up. "We will play this like a regular Jenga game, but there is a twist. Every block as a command, you slip a block out and read the command out loud, it will either select a category of people who will drink, or you will have to say or do something." Everyone listened intently and excitedly. "If you happen to knock it down you have to take a shot and set it back up." They all said and muttered things to each other eagerly, a slight buzz from the two shots before coursing through their veins, giving them a slight pinch of excitement, calming their nerves.

"This should be fun." Lena smirked.
