Nightfall.
The boat is halfway through the journey. Micah is dressed and ready to leave, stepping out quietly from the captain's cabin.
"Didn't think you wanted to leave." Arryn says from atop the mast, before jumping down behind him. "What, you couldn't leave in the day 'cause you thought we'd feel lonely?"
"You should be glad I didn't leave earlier. You'd have been coming with me for sure." Micah retorts without turning to face him.
"Speaking of, what was your deal earlier? What was the point of fighting someone in my group besides me?" Arryn asks.
Micah sighs. "I don't know if you're overprotective of your friends or if you're simply just a fool." He turns to face Arryn. "But you won't always be there to protect those ones you care about. You can't be omnipresent. And even if you are, you won't have the power to defend them all at once."
"Your point is...?" Arryn scowls at him.
"I figured you'd realized it by now, but I'll say it anyway. A storm is coming."
"I could tell from the two Isidro siblings being in the same region at the same time." Arryn says sarcastically.
"Joke about me all you want, but Valkenburg won't be your safe haven for much longer. Have you heard of it?" Micah says. "The Royal Purge..."
Arryn's empty eyes are given some sort of life on hearing the final sentence.
Micah continues. "The Pope-King wants to reinstate the Royal Purge. He wants to declare war on Valkenburg and king Rhogar Hohenberg XII"
"Hey, now. You're kidding, right?" Arryn says as his calm facade shows signs of breaking.
Micah maintains a stoic expression.
"Now, I don't know why that would be of interest to you, but I do know that the next time we meet won't be nearly as tame as this." He continues. "My point is, find a way to keep your friends as strong and prepared as possible. Your life doesn't get any easier from here."
With that, Micah turns around and gives Arryn a final grin. "Stay away from Yelena, you annoying bastard." With that he jumps into the air and with a bright flash, disappears into the sky.
Arryn looks on at the sky, his calmness restored with that final statement. "Very poor choice of words, you sister-obsessed animal."
He turns away, steadies himself and heads back down into the cabin.
A new arc begins. Yes, a new one. I dunno how that works, but yes. this was the end of the Introduction arc. The next one will take some time to come up with, so wish me luck.
