"Don't go for your exam today.''
I furrow my brows in confusion at his words. There is this expression on his face that is unreadable. I don't know what he is talking about but something feels off.
"What?''
He sighs and runs his hands through his hair. We just finished breakfast and I am helping him clear the table. We are the only ones in the house—he sent his staff away for a week. Said something about wanting to be alone with me.
"Don't go out today,'' he repeats.
"You know I have to.''
He shakes his head "You don't have to. I will take care of you. Money will never be a problem with me. So, you really don't have to take this exam.''
I know he thinks this will make me feel good but it does the opposite. It makes me feel like he doesn't actually believe that I can pass this test. He doesn't think I will amount to anything but being his wife and that doesn't sit right with me.
"I have to."
