Chapter 5 - A Genius?

The sun shone brilliantly and the water in the river glittered invitingly. Karl who was in the dam was frustrated, he was having a hard time dealing with it.

K: "arghh!! i need tools but where do i get one *sigh* how can i even rebuild this without any equipment, material plus i need a helper"

Karl gritted his teeth and clenched his hands in fist as if he wants to punch something. He was so stupid as to why would he repair a dam without preparing. The Guide suddenly pops out in the air infront of me, i was confused. I didn't remember calling him and how did he suddenly pops out of nowhere, Karl thought in his mind. The Guide soon began to speak and said.

The Guide:

[ Karl I Suggest That You Open Your Space Inventory ]

K: "and why would i do that?"

The Guide:

[ Just Do It Nothing Will Happen If You Try ]

K: "woah? it's my first time hearing you talk to me like that"

K: "anyway what's in there?"

The Guide:

[ Cannot Provide More Information ]

Wierd, Guide's personality quickly changes from straightforward to a serious system. I did what the Guide's suggested. I use my Space Inventory ability, then i startled the moment a spiral hole emerges floating in front of me. It was similar to a black hole but this space inventory of mine was color blue instead of black, i was astounded.

Karl inserted his right hand inside into the spiral hole to check what was in there, after that he suddenly felt something, it was soft? no, squishy? he lifted his eyebrow in confusion. At first, it was small that it would only fit his hands however after he asked the Guide if he can enlarge the space inventory, he somehow was able to enlarge it after the Guide told him. Sooner, he put his head inside slowly, and there he saw nothing.

His face went blank and his mouth fell open as he witness darkness inside the space inventory, it's as if he was in the outer space. Similar to the God of Creation's dimension, it was strange. After he sees the inside of the space inventory, he suddenly can't breathe, it was like his nose was clogged with something. So he immediately pulls his head outside in order to breathe. However, there's one thing that he keeps himself wondering about the squishy and soft thing.

He again put his right arm. The moment he insert it, he feel as if there was something on it, it was like a sand. Soon he put both of his arms and this time it became heavy as he was pulling it out. Karl pulls the heavy thing out with all of his strength. There was nobody that he could ask for help so he did it all by himself.

The moment he pulled out the heavy thing inside. Karl fell down to the ground bumping his butt after pulling it outside he said "ouch" after he fell down. Karl saw a cement after getting up. A cement that came out from the space inventory.

He then repeated the same process pulling different materials from his world. He plans to ask The Guide why did many stuff from his world appeared in the space inventory. But Karl has no time to ask, he doesn't have any chance either. He won't even answer if i tell him, Karl thought. It took him minutes pulling out, after that, he then starts working on rebuilding the dam, it was tiring.

K: "this might take a few days haha"

While he was busy working, Karl suddenly heard a voice shouting at his back, it was mister Fritz, Karl was glad and decided to ask mister Fritz for help to finish the dam early. Karl immediately turn around to him and they began talking exchanging words.

~ Meanwhile in the Townhall ~

??: "𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦?"

*murmuring*

??: "𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦!!! 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘣𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵!!! 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯!!"

After shouting at the messy crowd in front of him, the crowd suddenly became quiet and the atmosphere inside the Town Hall changed into gloomy and intense as they stare at the Village Chief.

~ Outside the Townhall ~

Helene was sitting on the ground worried. She didn't see her son at the center of Townhall. She tried to find her around their area with the help of mister Fritz, Marlene, and Heinrich but they couldn't find him. Helene felt that it was her fault after scolding her son earlier at her house. She couldn't control her anger because she was just worried for him. After all, he's just a 10-year-old boy.

He: "𝘶𝘩....𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦, 𝘪'𝘮 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘻 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺"

Heinrich tried to comfort her but Miss Helene couldn't after all his son is missing.

H: "𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦?" *crying*

Sadness and worriedness covered Helene's face with tears filling her eyes.

He: "𝘶𝘩....𝘦𝘳𝘮....𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦, 𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘭 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵....𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵? 𝘴𝘰 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮, 𝘪 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧"

~ 6 hours later ~

Karl, Fritz, and Marlene who arrived late, already finished rebuilding the dam, with the help of the dam they can now block the rivers, preventing floods and regulating the water level. Afterward, they decided to come back to the farmland to clean and cut the withered crops.

Karl taught them about crop rotation. While listening to him, Fritz and Marlene's eyes went round. They were amazed and uncertain that it will work. How did a 10-year-old kid have this kind of strange idea, he thought.

After explaining, Karl was able to convince them to trust him. They began cultivating the farmland by putting the seed in different directions with the use of crop rotation that they learned from Karl. The work went smoothly but they didn't finish it as soon as when sunset's few thin strips of clouds on the horizon turned into a shimmering gold.

K: "𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘸....𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦"

F: "𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘩, 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘪𝘵" *sigh*

Fritz forgot that he was supposed to bring Karl back to her mother.

F: "𝘏𝘦𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦! 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺, 𝘸𝘦'𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸"

Fritz shouted at his wife, ensuring that she could hear him at this distance.

M: "𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘢𝘺𝘺!!"

F: "*𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩* 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘩𝘢"

M: "𝘪 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶!!"

After they cleaned the surroundings, two men scouting the village notice how organized the crops were and the cleanliness. After touring around, they spotted unknown people from the mill, they quickly ran towards at them to peek. Karl sensed that they were being watched, he immediately told Fritz about it and said.

K: "𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘻, 𝘪 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦'𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦"

*he said softly*

F: "𝘩𝘶𝘩? 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦 *𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩* 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘭𝘰𝘸"

K: "𝘯𝘰 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵, 𝘪 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩---"

As soon as when Karl was about to finish what he was going to say, without a second thought, Fritz walk at them without a hesitation where Karl pointed.

K: "𝘩-𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘯! 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘻𝘺!?"

Karl readied his blade to attack if mister Fritz got troubled. As soon as when mister Fritz got closer to the entrance, the two men suddenly recognized his face.

??: "𝘪𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘻? 𝘪 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭"

??: "𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘩, 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦?"

As soon as they were closer, the two men recognized his face clearly, it was mister Fritz. The two felt relieved after knowing it was just mister Fritz, they thought that it was someone else. The two ran to him afterward they began talking, the two men said to him.

??: "𝘩𝘦𝘺, 𝘪𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘻"

F: "𝘩𝘦𝘺, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳? 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳?"

The three then began talking, Karl let out a sigh of relief after knowing that mister Fritz was alright. Soon after Karl noticed that those two men are from the village, he then join the conversation and started explaining to them what happened here.

Fritz denied that this wasn't his idea, he then point towards Karl and said that he was the responsible for this. The two of them couldn't believe what were they saying, it was absurd. How can even a 10-year-old have strange ideas? how can he possess such knowledge? they thought.

Afterward, they visited the dam and Marlene was late again. They were amazed as to how clean, new and odd the dam is. The two men ask again who did this, Fritz and Marlene explained that this was all Karl's doing, and by any chance, they were just helping him.

without hesitating, Karl explains to them, what are these new designs, and how they will function. Karl also explain to them and tell both of them that he will teach the crop rotation to all the residents in the Isruhr village so that they can work easier and can harvest better

The two men glance coldly at Karl. Still, they couldn't believe it, a kid? could do this all by himself, is he a genius? wait come to think of it he was the son of Albert Albrecht from the Lord of Bürwagen, they thought.

The two guards bowed at them, they couldn't thank them enough, a situation that they couldn't unravel, and yet here they are, they easily worked it out, the trouble that they were facing. Although the seeds aren't finished yet planting, that's all enough that they could do.

If they didn't rebuild the dam earlier, they're afraid that the dam might collapse. It's too old for the dam to hold in especially it has so many molds that are coating. They weren't prepared to rebuild it and it will take them weeks. About the crops rotating idea or whatsoever, they didn't show much attention to it. They still haven't believed any single word from Karl and Fritz. It was ridiculous and how can they even be so sure? so they decided that they will listen, help, and observe it for months.

After the occurrences that happen, they both agreed that they will report the finished dam and the crop rotation to the Village Chief. At last, all of them went home, and miss Marlene was late again.

~ Meanwhile Fritz while walking his way to home thinking something ~

F: "𝘩𝘮𝘮 𝘪 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘦𝘳𝘮...𝘢𝘩!! 𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺"

Fritz suddenly realize that it was not his money. It was his beloved wife who has trouble walking on her own, he said.

F: "𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵....𝘴𝘩*𝘵 𝘪 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦, 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺!!!"
