Story Introduction

Greetings Reader,

This story begins on chapter 1. Feel free to skip this chapter. It only serves to explain where I am coming from in writing this story.

This is my first work and I want to properly set the stage for anyone that is taking the time to read what I have written. English is my first language, so you will not have the comprehension struggles that exist in some of the works on this platform. However, this is my first stab at putting something I have written creatively into a public forum. As a result, it is likely that many aspects of my story can be refined. I believe that the narrative is well done, but that does not mean that it is written perfectly.

If you take the time to read this story and see a way that I could improve my story, then please leave a comment. I will fix any errors as soon as I find them. Additionally, if you have any suggestions regarding narration, style, or character development, then please let me know.

This story does not follow just one character. Life is rarely an individual affair, and neither is this story. However, it is entirely possible that you may feel that a character is not getting the necessary time dedicated to them. If that is the case, then let me know and I will write additional chapters to expand them.

I do have a few notes about the story.

There are not any true villains in this story. That is, no character is truly evil. There are characters that are in challenge positions, and there are characters that time and suffering have warped.

Kai is just a scared kid trying his best in a terrible situation.

Silver is a man who was given tremendous power, but was raised in a cutthroat environment. The system that governs the Royals is militaristic in nature. Failure can mean being punished with insignificance or death. However, convention and social stigma influence his decisions more than fear.

That taken care of, enjoy.
