"It wasn't hard to remember," he smiled. Except for her name and the information she had provided him with, Ivan hardly knew anything about her but he still felt a sense of familiarity with her, a weird kind of warmth that was missing in his life. He liked interacting with her. The way she talked and expressed herself made him feel happy and at peace.
"Well, I remember everything about you too." Sticking her fingers out, she started laying out the points. "Your name is Ivan Carter, you are Genny's boss and a businessman. You have two siblings and a cousin you are very close to—umm what was his name again? Jackson—"
"Jason," he chuckled and corrected him.
"Yeah Jason. And your parents' names—Leandro and—I forgot your mothers name, what was it again?" When Ivan did not say anything, Amber pursed her lips. His expression turned dark and gloomy again just like the other day.
Cursing herself for talking recklessly, she looked out of the window, thinking of a way to change the topic.
"I—"
Cutting her off, Ivan stated, "Elena." Looking at her, he added, "That's my mother's name."
Smiling at him, she remarked, "It's a beautiful name."
Giving her a weak smile, he nodded his head but did not say anything.
The pain in his heart was visible on his face which made Amber wonder what must have happened. The more she spent time with him, the more they interacted, the urge in her heart to know everything about him kept getting stronger and stronger.

Saint Berg Hospital
"Amber—" Renna wrapped her hands around Amber's waist before bursting into tears.
Patting her back, she tried to console her. "Everything is okay now, stop crying."
Pulling away, Renna placed her hand on her stomach. "But my baby—" she sobbed loudly.
Seeing Renna, Amber's eyes filled with tears. The pain of a mother after losing her child was something beyond everything she had ever experienced but yet she could feel it. Her heart ached for her.
She knew how much Renna always wanted to have a baby and she also believed that everything with her husband would be okay after they had their first child. She was living and dealing with the toxic relationship she had with her husband with a hope in her heart—when the baby comes, everything will be okay. But now that hope was gone, making her feel vulnerable.
Wiping her tears away, Renna looked at Amber with hope in her eyes. "C—Can you save my baby? Can you bring it back?"
The sudden question startled not only Amber but also Ivan who was standing not too far away from them.
"I—"
Grabbing her hand, Renna started begging her. "Please, I know you can do it. Save my baby, I want it back."
"Renna—" Amber sighed. "In life, there are certain things you have to let go no matter how badly you don't want to because that is how life works. Holding onto something that is gone will only make you more miserable and weak. You have to learn how to let it go."
Placing her hand on hers, she added, "I know unfair things have happened to you but this is not the end, this is your new beginning. Now all you have to do is let go of the past and start a new life."
"But you can save my baby, I know you can Amber," Renna said in a relatively higher pitch.
"I am sorry, I can't—" When she started crying again, Amber gently patted her back in a comforting way. "Feel better soon, okay? And if you ever need anything, just give me a call."
When Renna did not say anything, she sighed and walked out along with Ivan.
