"What?!? You wanna cook crystal meth? Why?"
Devina sighed and looked up into the sky. Following her gaze. All the beautiful stars, shining so brightly.
"Hey Vivshi, did you know the closest star to our sun is Proxima Centaur?"
She kept rambling on, weird cosmology.
"Did you smoke some meth before suggesting that?"
Devina continued her rant.
"Even though it is the closest, it is far away. Things may seem close, but in actuality, they might be out of reach."
With a confused smile, I asked how that is connected with cooking crystal meth.
"Your mission to save Emovi may look doable in a short time. But if shone under light, it is far far away."
"Can you please explain it more simply?"
Devina gave me an aggravated look.
"What?!?"
"Fine, I will explain it in a way someone like you can understand."
She finally explained something comprehensible. Telling me that my goal to save Emovi seems easy, but it would be really difficult and long.
She then told me her reasoning for cooking methamphetamine. Zerstörer being a significant role within the drug industry. He has regulations for newcomers that try to advertise their product. He would check up on us if we started selling. The bigger the quantity, the faster he would come to us.
"Listen here Vivshi. What was the quality of drugs you saw on the streets?"
Thinking back about it. I remembered that the drugs that were sold were really bad quality. It wouldn't cost that much. I told Devina this.
"And what does that mean?"
After some processing, I finally got her idea.
"If we sell high-quality methamphetamine, that completely makes the other drugs look like baby food. Then… all the people will come to us to buy our products."
Devina seemed satisfied with my answer.
"Bing bong, ten billion points to you. That's not the only point. When Zerstörer discovers that his monthly revenue isn't the usual, he will start questioning. That will lead him to us."
"You're are fucking genius, Devina!"
Devina remained quiet and maintained a neutral expression.
"After he realizes that our product can be sold at high prices. Knowing him, he wouldn't let such an exquisite opportunity slide away."
Devina told me to wait until the next day to start. She then picked up her stick and clammed it between two biscuits, making it a s'more.
"Can I have some of that?"
She gave me two biscuits, we sat there eating s'mores together for some time. Before I went back into the house.
Walking up the flight of stairs. I saw a door that was never there before. Opening it, I heard the sound of crashing waves. I stepped onto the other side, the ground, sandy and the smell of salt permeated my nose.
On the other side is a beach.
Wait. Why is there a beach inside Devina's house?
I stepped back and closed the door. The sound of flushing water and water running came from the next room. Don't tell me there is another beach in that room too.
I walked to the other door. It is a blue door. Grabbing the handle and pulling on it. I saw Sekito standing there washing her hands.
"Hewllo? Vivshi?"
I closed the door. Stepped back. Walked into the room that Emovi is in.
"Where have you been? You were gone for too long," Aylin said.
"I was admiring the pond downstairs out in the garden."
Marlowlia shifted her eyes toward me. She stood up and excused herself.
"You really got fetishes for fish."
Marlowlia bumped into Sekito on her way out.
"I have prepared rooms for all of y'all. Follow me so I can show y'all."
Aylin touched Emovi a final last time before heading out. Marlowlia followed behind.
I sat there on a chair next to Emovi, looking straight at her.
"Mother, sister, I'm doing this for you."
I held Emovi's scorching hands. Back then, when I took you from Viego. You tried to whisper something to me. I knew what you meant, sister. Devina informed me as well. I won't let any more of you die.
I sat there, hours went by, and fatigue kicked in. My eyes were so tired, shutting them tightly to see nothing but blank. I fell asleep.
Is there an earthquake? Why is it shaking so much? I opened my eyes to see I'm in some sort of vehicle. Suddenly it stopped.
I sat up on the floor to see a whole lab. Glass jars, beakers, flasks, tubes, chemicals, and bottles with lables, what the hell is methylene? There is some weird machinery I have never seen before.
"Oh look, someone is finally awake."
Devina stood behind me in a weird white coat.
"Where the hell did you take me?"
"Nautilus."
Wait a minute… I saw a door and opened it. There is just water. Endless water, that I saw until the horizon.
"Devina… did you kidnap me and take me to the ocean of Nautilus?"
Devina walked up to me with confident enthusiastic steps. Taking glass jars and tubes and flexing them in her hands.
"Let us start cooking."
