How Dare You

Dominic returned home in the morning with Caleb and the officer he had requested. As they got out of the vehicle and passed through the gates, they walked towards the building. The servants welcomed him, with some helping him carry his coat and portfolio, taking Caleb's as well. He noticed that Evangeline did not come to greet him and saw Magdalene instead. He sighed and asked her, "Where's Evangeline?"

"She's having a picnic in the garden..." Magdalene began, but before she could say another word, Dominic left her sight and headed for the garden, asking Caleb to wait for him with the officer in the house so he could see Evangeline, even if only once.

Evangeline was with Richard under a tree where a picnic mat and food were laid out by the garden near the fountain. Evangeline wore a black cleavage blouse with a long, bell-shaped, multicolored skirt with a slit and open-toe shoes with kitten heels. A big multicolored bow adorned the back of her head, matching her skirt. She sat on Richard's thighs, facing him while she held his face, admiring it. Richard held her from behind, his hands resting on her buttocks. A strong wind blew through their hair.

"Richard, what does true love look like?" Evangeline asked Richard.

"Well, in my opinion, it's when two people are destined to be together," Richard shrugged while staring into her eyes. Evangeline placed her hands on his shoulders, playfully massaging them.

"Like in fairy tales?" she asked.

"Girls and fairy tales, pfft," he rolled his eyes and chuckled.

Dominic walked to the garden and saw Evangeline on Richard's lap. He was boiling with anger but couldn't show it. He watched them talk and kiss, closing his eyes and wanting to punch Richard in the face and kill him, but he couldn't. He left the garden without them noticing.

Evangeline giggled, seeing Dominic walking towards the building. She scoffed, turned to Richard, picked up a dessert, and fed Richard with it, waiting for the right time for Dominic to leave the office again.

Dominic passed through another doorway of the house, greeted by the servants as they went about their way. He was thinking about the scene in the garden, then his mind drifted to the accusations from the conference meeting. He covered his face with his hand as he arrived at the office door. Going in, he saw Caleb and the officer sitting on the sofa, waiting for him.

"Sorry for the delay," Dominic apologized as he sat at the office table, welcoming the officer to his home.

"I'm grateful to Mr. Dominic for having me here," the officer thanked Dominic, bowing his head.

"We'll capture the culprit soon enough, but we have to do something so the criminal doesn't notice we're looking for them," Dominic said, picking up his pen and spinning it playfully.

Caleb was about to suggest something when the officer interrupted him, placing his hand on Caleb's shoulder.

"Let me be in charge of the kitchen. We'll have to retire the current staff for now. I also have cooking skills, no worries," the officer suggested, smiling handsomely.

"Oh? Well, I'll think about it before my dear cranky wife gets mad about changing her family's staff," Dominic replied, clearing his throat. "This will be a tough one, but I'll speak to Magdalene, and she'll inform Evangeline."

"How about I do it myself? If it's from you, she might not accept it. I know Evangeline well," Caleb replied, adjusting his glasses.

"Oh well, you're the boss. She'll listen to you more than me," Dominic teased Caleb, but Caleb understood the message because he knew his master well.

"You have another meeting at 9 today," Caleb said, handing Dominic some documents. Dominic saw it was from his private business and didn't disclose it around the officer. He nodded.

"Wonderful!" he exclaimed. "I need to take some rest before heading to the meeting. Also, take this and give it to Evangeline." He brought out a flat box and gave it to Caleb. "From what I know, she loves green a lot. It's my little gift to her. I need to rest. Take the officer to one of the guest rooms." Dominic stood up and left the two alone. Caleb nodded, leading the officer out of the office.

Evangeline watched them from a corner. After they left, she went into the office to find clues, holding a little pistol in her hand for protection. She closed the doors and took a deep breath. She went to the table, found a dark blue file, and opened it. She gasped at what she saw.

"Could this be?... Wait, I came here for the letters, didn't I? Then what is this?" She went through the records in the file. "This despicable man!" She sat down, keeping the pistol on her thighs, and continued going through the files. She saw an open letter and picked it up. The writing said, "I'm watching her. She's keeping her head down and up. I'll have to get rid of her after she becomes useless. From now on, I'll make use of her before I kill her. It's that simple. It doesn't matter to me if she lives or not, and I'll cover everything up as soon as possible. I'm waiting for the right time."

Evangeline gasped and was boiling with anger that her grandmother had trusted this bastard.

As Dominic was strolling towards his room, he realized he had left his diary in the office. "Silly me..." He sighed and returned to the office. Opening the doors, he saw Evangeline sneaking through his documents. He laughed insanely and scoffed at her. "What are you doing here, little rabbit? Didn't find your carrot, did ya ?" he teased, which made Evangeline angry. She grabbed her pistol and stood, pointing the gun at him, walking slowly in front of the table.

"Don't you dare come closer," she warned him. Although she was scared, she hid it to avoid looking weak. With her limited knowledge of martial arts, Dominic could see the fear in her eyes. He just laughed and walked towards her, leaning close and putting his hands on the table. As she sat halfway on the table, staring into his eyes, his lips were close to hers. She turned away, and Dominic gulped, wanting to kiss her lips right then, but he couldn't because they had been tainted by another man. He just smiled and turned away.

"What are you doing in my office?" he asked.

"I found your secret! You're trying to sell my mother's hotel and get rid of me and my family. That's your ambition, isn't it?!" she replied, pointing the pistol at Dominic.

Dominic chuckled at the accusations and shook his head in disappointment. "If that's what you think, then yes," he played along with her accusations. She knew he was just playing with her feelings.

"You monster!" she yelled at Dominic as he chuckled again and walked towards her, pinning her against the table. He stared at her cleavage with sexual desire as she breathed heavily. Raising his head, he faced her directly.

"Don't waste your efforts. You're free to kill me. I know you hate me and are probably wishing for a divorce." He grabbed the gun and pointed it at his chest, her hand on the trigger. "Kill me," he ordered, daring her to satisfy her wish. Her hands trembled, unable to hold the gun properly. She couldn't kill him. He was tired of her attempts and her frightened state,He grabbed the gun with a cold expression.

"I think you need to learn some things, and I need to teach you that princess "His tone became cold and dominating .He pointed the gun at her "When you're threatening someone with a gun , you should cock the hammer to show that you mean it"

Evangeline was breathing heavily, frozen frozen at the new personality he has transformed into, a very ruthless person with a killing intent "When you point a gun, they won't be able to tell if they mean it or not"He kept pointing at her , then moved the gun to her breasts and rubbed against them with it down to her thigh. He used the gun to raise her skirt through the slit caressing her exposed thigh down to her calf seductively he enjoyed every bit of what he was doing.

Evangeline didn't move, irritated by the fact that he dared touch her body like that with the pistol.

Then he removed the gun and shot it at a glass vase making her flinch as the glass shattered into pieces on the floor.

"They need to hear the sound of the cylinder to realize you're ready to kill them.Doing what you just did like a mouse suffering from a cold with no shelter will get you killed easily, that's not how things are done "He said pointing at her again "How dare you point a gun at me?" Evangeline snarled at Dominic with hatred in her eyes squinting her eyes.

"And you think you can hold me down with a gun?How dare you?" He answered her question with a question while the gun is still pointed at her

"This place once belonged to my grandmother and mother, you have no right to ask me what I'm doing here. It's my family's house not yours" Evangeline said, clenching her fingers as Dominic moved the gun and pointed it to the side of her head touching her temple.

"It's mine now, you should understand that we're married. Do you think I'm joking with you?"He replied coldly showing no emotion.

"There's nothing you can do about that darling, accept the reality, deal with it" He pulled the trigger while the gun is on her head to Let Evangeline's guard down. She closed her eyes tightening her hands while clenching them.
