#Chapter49
Exploring
Elias
As soon as Owen and I hit our bedroom, we tossed our bags and left. No way was I hanging out with my brothers, parents, and cousins. We ran down the stairs, past Dad as he brought in luggage.
/"Hi, Elias. Bye, Elias,/" Dad said.
Owen and I ran past him, getting the hell out of dodge. If there’s one thing I know, it’s getting out before the family sucks you in like a vacuum cleaner.
We stopped running and walked once we were far away from the rental house.
/"How much will our dads throttle us for taking off?/" Owen asked me.
/"When don’t our dads want to throttle us?/"
/"‘Tis true./" Owen raised his finger in the air.
We walked along the beach as the water hit the sand, moving back and forth. Tiny waves rippled through the water.
/"Okay, now that we’re alone, why don’t you talk around people?/"
