THE ACADEMY OF MAGIC

Walking down the long long stair way,he gradually left the building.It almost looked like a tower from outside.He went to another one that was north of the one he just came from.It took him a couple of more stairs up,to reach the tenth floor.

He scanned the area and saw the room that he was supposed to be in.Upon touching the large door,a face embedded on the door appeared.It looked like a troll,which was attached on the door.

"Your are late for classes.State your name."The troll face said with an annoyed tone."You are disturbing my rest."It complained.

"Am Krad Thuita,one of the first year students in there,I am to join the class today."Krad answered.He was actually annoyed by the troll's choice of words,and he felt like bulging through the door hitting the ugly face.

"Anyway,I don't intend to waste my slumber time!"The troll face said as the door opened.The lesson had already started with the teacher holding up a wand demonstrating his magic skills.

The students turned and stared at the blue haired boy who seemed to be confused and out of place.They mumbled to each other of what skills the person would have.

"Is this the new boy?"A student asked her partner.

"Yeah he is the one.The fact that everyone else is already in here and there is an extra seat, he's the one."

"Do you see that?"Another said,"He has a small hand drum hang on his left side."

"Yeah,I can see it.Does he plan to introduce himself by entertaining us?"

The a hundred or so students started to laugh some pointing at the small brown hand drum that was on Krad's left side on his hip.He was yet to enter the large classroom that looked like a hall.

The teacher gave the laughing students a death stare and pointed his wand at them."If you continue laughing am going to make your mouths burst."All the students got dead silent at this warning.

"Sorry about that boy,come in."The man gestured,"And please introduce yourself and then settle down."

Krad hesitated but then the door suddenly pushed him inside and then closed behind him.He had almost fell infront of the class,and the students chuckled at him.He could hear the troll rambling and complaining from the other side."How long would it take a normal kid to enter a classroom?!"It said."Fool!"The troll yelled.

He walked up to the front and faced the hundreds students."Hi,my name is Krad.A new student as you know and am the principal's so—"He had stopped himself before finishing it.He remembered that Druid the principal told him not to reveal that they are related if he wanted to live a normal life in school.

Of course,some had heard him but decided to keep quiet because the wand was still pointed at them.He then located his seat that was at the first row second to the front seat, and went to it seating down peacefully not minding the crazy stares he was receiving from the others.

"That was nice,am tutor Eugene.The head of this class."Eugene the teacher,or tutor,said.And then decided to continue with his lesson.

"So far as I was saying,every mage or wizard must have a tool that will be used to activate his or her powers.This here is my tool,and it's the most common,a wand.Some are lucky to have different types of tools that are unique and are unknown to the others.Speaking of wands,Krad,would you please show us your tool?"

Everyone turned to Krad as they waited.Without hesitation,Krad stood up and took out his small hand drum that only fit the palm of his hand and showed it to the class.He had expected them to laugh but none did which he was suprised by it.

"That's what I said.Some are lucky to have a unique and powerful tool.The stronger your tool is, the stronger magic it would hold making you powerful in your own ways..."

Krad then sat down and returned his tool to where it was.

"Before I teach you anything,there are the basic skills that everyone has,and you will show it to us today.Lets start with this row."He indicated.He had pointed at the column that Krad was in.The girl that sat infront of Krad stood up holding her wand and went at the front where everyone could see her.

Without a single word,she lifted her wand up and chanted some magic words.It started to send out numerous sparks of white energy.The tiny sparks then gathered and formed a small white ball that hovered above the tip.She swung the wand and the ball started flying all around the large room at an amazing speed.The others were pretty amazed at this.

The ball of white aura then disappeared and the girl went back to her seat.An applause erupted as the students cheered at her.

"That was amazing Wendy! Keep it up!"The tutor praised ."Okay,next is you,Krad Thuita.Show us what you got."Krad stood up as normal but a visible stream of sweat ran down from his forehead.

He stood infront of the class and gave them a stare for some moment."Go ahead."Eugene said with a grin on his face.Breathing in and out,he held on his hand drum with his left hand.He did not remove it from his waist,but instead,chanted,'Marurume', and whacked the top of the drum with his right hand.

Out of nowhere,above the students covering the whole hall's ceiling,were thick dark clouds that continuously produced thunderstorms.Some students were terrified by the thought of getting wet and being shock by lightning.But then,the clouds died down as if evaporating till there was none left.Krad walked back to his seat.There was a reason why he was so shaking when he went to show his skills,but did not know if the others had noticed."I hope none noticed."He thought to himself.

The room was quiet.All of a sudden large thunder clouds had covered the whole room above their heads,and as soon as it had appeared,it disappeared.

"That power,I only know Druid as the only one with weather master powers.Why does this boy have it?"Eugene was becoming curious about who exactly Krad was.His second name did not much up with Druid's,yet he had similar powers to Druid.He was sure it wasn't a coincidence.

The students began talking to each other of what they just saw,and this made Krad feel even more edgy.Wendy,the girl who performed first, turned her back and looked at Krad straight in the eye with a bold and serious face.This scared Krad a bit."Does she want to attack me?"He thought.

"Hello,my name is Wendy Hersey.Can we be partners?"She then smiled and held out her hand for a handshake.Krad was surprised by this action.He remembered his conversation with his dad a while ago,but the dropped his earlier motives at the back of his mind as he accepted the handshake."Then partners we'll be."He smiled back.

"He's so gullible."She thought to herself as she turned back facing the front.The teacher had snapped out of his gaze and decided to continue with the lesson."I'll research about it."He thought.

"Okay,the next student,please come and surprise us too."With that,all the students had their chance to shine infront of the class.Some were even more amazing as one had instead made an attack.He produced two small white energy balls at the same time with his wand hitting the back wall with great force, then the balls disappeared.There were visible cracks left on the wall,and he was branded the strongest by the rest.His name was Davis Michael.

This was the last lesson of the day,so as it ended,the students stayed to chill,chatt and hang out.Still in class,most had gathered around Davis as they wanted to befriend him due to him being powerful than them,they would feel safe around him.

Krad had left because he had no business with them.But as he was walking down the hallway,he felt someone tag him on his right shoulder.Turning around,he saw a beautiful young lady who was just slightly shorter than him.She had long green hair that reached her hips.Tied on her left thigh,was her short magic wand.Her skin was bright and clean from any kind of pimples or dirtying factor.Her eyes were brown and glistened when she looked at him.Her appearance when she's close to him sent an electric shock all over his body but decided to show no sign of interest.

"We've met before, remember?Am Wendy."She said.
